As with anything modding related, make backups of everything you intend to edit first.
For GTA V, I wholeheartedly recommend backing up the entire '.rpf' archive, not just the files you are editing.

The practice of backing up the entire rpf is particularly valid for FiveM which has zero tolerance for modified vanilla files. Although it's a best practice to use a mods folder in SP, FiveM uses a resources folder, making modding different and not allowing you to restore one file in an rpf, instead you need to restore the entire vanilla file. Ofc, you shouldn't make that same mistake twice.

You can't install dlc, or make textures changes for example, while OpenIV is open. So you're very limited.

This a huge PITA if you install an addon, start the game, and realize you forgot to make any entry in dlclist.xml or peds.meta.

Scripts however can be reloaded quickly without having to restart game.

Similarly you can inspect changes in OpenIV while the game is running but once more you can't make changes.

@GTATerminal Thanks for the help, I've already tried calling it OnTick, with and without an Interval, and it doesn't seem to work.
I'm not exactly sure how to use your method though, so I couldn't test it. When I change "vehicle" to Game.Player.Character.CurrentVehicle, I get "Cannot convert from 'ulong' to GTA.Native.Hash'".

@gravebraker I took a picture of my computer screen with the files I've been downloading with my phone and Elm messaging in this forum is my cell phone so I don't know how to upload pics from my cell phone but I do have pics and I am using talk to text so sorry about any grammar errors and if I was to replace every single car in Grand Theft Auto with actual cars as well as open all Interiors and add some police chase mods and sound mods and car tuning mods will this have any conflict with anyone that I have I need help with doing it all

@Elope yea, well its a long way from beta testing right now. its probably the High poly count because it has like 55k polys . hmm. no workaround there. i'll try and make it spawn as as aircraft. lets see what happens. if i get it upto speed. i shall be happy to release it soon. i am working on J-15A flying Shark, of chinese airforce. kinda wanted to release them both together, if not together well, atleast it should be good enough for A video, and some screenshots.

@johnboy1337 Then you should go watch a video on YouTube about how to replace vehicles and weapons in GTA V using OpenIV. It's the same process, except you'll be replacing a pedestrian with another one.

A pretty blanket question really. What do you want to make? Where do you want to start? I would start by downloading OpenIV and exploring the game files. That'll get you familiar with the game's structure and it'll give you a look at some of the textures and text files you could modify.
