Map Editor Objects



  • Hey guys why don't we start a topic with a list of interesting objects we found while we are creating maps? It's always really difficult to find what we are looking for so why don't we take advantage of our experience?



  • For example I am working for requalifying a desert area and I found some interest building searching for "Building" "Tower" and for a residential area it's really useful to search for "hs" and obviosly "house"



  • Found a line of coke that i hadn't seen before. and a little pyrex tub with uncracked meth



  • @Marco_italy Go download my Map Builder mod for new objects!

  • We need possibly a buildlist with all the objects that the map editor has. I think most of the Map Editor users here use not more then 6000/7000 usable items through the standard list. Maybe someone can also make list with keywords to find quicker your type of objects. I know it's alot of work and there be alot of invalids.



  • @gta5testya Yes that would be super to have all the object list with a mini image next to the prop name.

    Yes obviously it has to be done gradually it can be done meanwhile we are doing map! According to me we spend even one third of the total time searching for what we are looking for! Looking forward to see some of yours discovered items! As soon as I can I will post mine! ;)



  • Anybody know where I could find some wall and floor textures?

    I have the extended objects list, and between @OmegaKingMods and that extended ObjectList mod I downloaded a while back, I managed to create a file with over 55.000 objects. Now, at the moment I find myself using the same white wall (used in many mods, you should know which one I'm talking about) that you can find searching for "dstsign". Thanks to @OmegaKingMods I also use a few new wall textures, but unfortunately, he (from what I have seen so far) only has very large blocks (which are useful, don't get me wrong) and so making a building with a few floors seems to be impossible using those textures. Any chance you could make them have a smaller height, but the same bases? Same applies to road textures, sand textures, etc. I do look forward to future updates, @OmegaKingMods.

    @420x420 Yeah I found them too! Managed to find a ton of different types of plants, flowers, grass n' stuff. Even a massive crane with a working ladder, house objects, etc. Anyone know where I can find buildings that aren't houses? Stores? Warehouses? All that good stuff. Also, it is unfortunate that I find myself with so many "Invalid" objects in the areas I build. Shame...

  • @Hyper-Droid : Does all the 55.000 objects work with your Map Editor?, when I use the extended 55.000 objectslist it will have many invalids ones and errors sometimes it crashes to destop. When I validate the object list I'll keep about 6000/7000 objects left, so how do you get 55.000 objects without invalid ones?



  • @Hyper-Droid Trust me, I want to import all types of new objects into the game. Until we get model importing support this is impossible. I've created tons of new objects. When we get that modeling support (hopefully soon) it will change everything!



  • @Hyper-Droid almost every building I could find in gta map editor are under the name of bh1_ (number) most of them are houses but you can find even some other things. The big problem that I have encountered with these pre built items is that they haven't collision!



  • @Hyper-Droid Have you tried to spawn invalid objects in the garden of Micheal's house? There almost everything is valid, you can spawn there and then place the object where you want



  • @Marco_italy Yeah! I have actually searched for "Bh1" (alongside "proc, ng_proc, csx, des, metro, prop, sacks, weed, etc), and you're right when it comes to the lack of collision-included houses! Otherwise, they're quite nice... I never knew about spawning in Michael's house and moving the objects! I'll check that out today. When I manage to save the object that would otherwise be invalid, where I want it, and reload the file, do you know if they'll still be there? Can I seriously just spawn entities in Michael's house and move them to the desired location, save the game and that's it?

    @gta5testya Thanks to @OmegaKingMods, I can spawn a lot more... Having said that, many are invalid in my desired locations. As said by @Marco_italy, all one needs to do is spawn them inside Michael's mansion. The best items I have, I have created a written list for (on a notebook, with each object having a very short description - red wall, cash stack, etc). All in all, in most areas I spawn around 10.000 objects.

    @OmegaKingMods From day one I support your every step. Do please keep it up! Try and find (rather than blocks) slabs with textures you can replace. They, as one could imagine, much easier to work with. In fact, those giant blocks are useless in buildings with many floors. I do however know this is hard for you to fix, but still, I though it would be good to point it out to you.

    @Gamoholik That would take nearly forever, jsut saying.... Remeber: 55.000 Objects. :no_entry_sign:

    @Carrythxd Nice setup! Have you seen mine? Check out my "About me!". Also, I couldn't fit in due to the lack of character quantity available to me (only 1.000 max characters), I have a secondary triple monitor rig with a 5930K, a GTX 1080,

  • @Hyper-Droid Of course they can be saved with the map the only problem is when you spawn them! It does not work for everything but most of the invalid objects are valid there! :)
