[Vehicle] [WIP] Chevy Monte Carlo SS '88
-
@John-Lemon There is minor changes in interior and enginebay materials. Also check car and tuning parts names, they should be ok, but just in case. And maybe there is left something, that i just don't see or forgot.
-
Did some few updates on my handling, now it should feel better, if anyone wants to try it:
handling.metaRegarding the lang files that you mentioned, may I suggest changing the gameName line from "chevy monte..." to only "Monte Carlo SS '88" and add the MakeName as chevrolet and "Chevrolet" in the lang file, this way the game recognizes it better, scripts etc.
-
@GreenAid I'm write full car name in GameName string because only model name, without car manufacturer, snows when entering LSC, if make it as you said above.
-
@Yarm1995 So I got to test the Monte this morning and I'd say it's ready for release, but for the perfectionist, I'd say release, and then update it as time goes on.
The Wooden Grain Dash option name should be changed to 'Wooden Grain Dash Panel'
The Roll Cage option name has the same problem, should be 'Roll Cage and Chassis Upgrade'
Repeat of names for the hoodsAlso, I'm not crazy about the GreenAid handling, it can't turn at high speed and this a problem when in police chase, but that's me
Overall, other than few things I notice, it is very well done and I noticed you made the fixes I pointed out earlier
-
@John-Lemon I just forgot about some names, so thanks to pointing me.
-
@Yarm1995 Well... IDK then, IMO it's more proper if the brand doesn't show, like original.
@John-Lemon well if you'd have Realistic Driving by Killatomate you'd figure that in fact realistic. Vanilla handlings defy physics.
Anyway, I saw there are included different colour trims, but is it possible to switch them ingame?
-
First version is ready and waiting approval. Thanks to all for support, waiting and patience!
-
@Yarm1995 Excellent work, one of the cleanest most well done cars i've used since playing with mods.
-
@Yarm1995 Hey after the Catalina, what do you got planned Yarm?
-
Just installed and tested. Very very clean and properly done. Congratulations. Love the trims and tuning.
-
@John-Lemon I dont know yet. After Monte Carlo and Catalina i want to take some break. Then maybe i make Lambo lm002 or Alfa Romeo 155, or maybe '77 Firebird.
-
@Yarm1995 said in [Vehicle] [WIP] Chevy Monte Carlo SS '88:
Alfa Romeo 155

And the superior AC modelhttp://gamemodels.ru/files/file/5647-alfa-romeo-155-v6-ti/
-
@Yarm1995 80 s Firebird sound even better : )
-
@ReNNie I'm planning to use Horizon 3 model as base, and take some parts from AC model for tuning.
-
@Yarm1995 I loved Kubo's IV model so much, would love a mapped and tuned version
-

Little progress here. Trying to make rusty version.
Dices, placed inside are animated (in videoeditor they moving worse, than ingame):
-
@Yarm1995 If I was to draw the rust, I'd put more over the rear wheel arches and rust at the bottom of the trunk lid, it's been my experience that is the places rust likes on GMs. Also, this is just a me thing, but I'd have a lot of paint failure on the roof, hood and tops of the fenders. I gotta 97' Ram SS/T with said paint failure but that's a 90's car when Auto Manufacturers were forced to use worse clear coats that were better for the environment.
-
Wow, really love that rusty version! Good work.
Is there any options to make those rusty rims available as a wheel mod (like the additional add-on rims that were part of the standard version)?
-
@John-Lemon I just use textures from GTA default rusty cars for this test. Maybe i draw custom textures, or ask someone.
-
@inbetweendays_ Yes, i can make these steel rims as tuning wheels. For example, clean paintable version and rusty.
-
@Yarm1995 Make the rust as secondary mesh with awesome normal maps and it would look amazing! Otherwise it looks more like a paint job then a real rust.
-
@MrGTAmodsgerman I'm use paint6 shader, with parameters and textures same, as on default cars. So it have normal maps for rust and support paint fade effect. But maybe i draw or find some good rust textures, and make it as mesh shader.
-
@Yarm1995 Well here is a photo. Keep in mind that not all shader can show the normal map to the fullest. Mesh and doorshuts are that i know for good results, some have less quality
http://www.texturex.com/albums/Metal-Textures/TextureX rusty metal paint effect rust Texture.jpgIf you look at the north yankton cars, they all have the snow as secondary mesh with special shaders and textures.
