...is OpenIV essential for using mods?
Can you still use things like scene director/menyoo etc without it?

It's only essential for mods that replace internal game files. Like vehicle mods, map mods (not the Menyoo/Map Editor kind), player mods, etc.
Script mods will not be affected.

@Jitnaught Oh boo! I forgot I use Map Editor. What about Skin Control? Will that be useless without Open IV?
