[Vehicle] (W.I.P.) 1965/66 Pontiac Full-size Package Mod 2.0
-
It looks cool; I can not wait to this beauty
-
@Yarm1995 I'm done with the LODs and I've sent them, plus the mods over by email to you
If I do anything else with the Catalina I'll let you know and you can do the same if there is something wrong with it you can't fix
-
@John-Lemon Everytime Zmodeler breaks normals and smoothing groups like this:
But after some trials and experiments with export options in Max i make successfull export between Max and Zmodeler:
So approximately model will be looks like this:
I can say that model looks much more smoother and detailed now, and all these tuning parts are really cool!
-
@Yarm1995 Looks awesome!
As a side note, the only part that is interchangeable with the old model is the air filter and distributor. Every other part is either new or had been redone. Also, I forgot brake fins' chrome, you need me to make them, or do you have a way to add the chrome to the fins?
-
@Yarm1995 Hey, really cool looking! I just noticed the "bubble" boot, maybe you can fix that at some point I hope
-
@GreenAid Probably some normals was screwed during .obj export, i noticed messed up lights reflectors, but after manually vertices cuttind and welding its become fine and i make UV mapping. So anyway i will do some normal fixes on body parts for making proper UV mapping.
@John-Lemon I'm just start to making materials and UV mapping (some textures on screens just for test, i'm change them later)
-
@Yarm1995 I love gawking at. I can't wait to see it in game. Also, I did send some missing tirm by email. The 'Pontiac' lettering on the rear panel, chrome tirm for the brake fins and truck key lock
-
@John-Lemon I got them, but you forgot to save it in 2014 format
-
@Yarm1995, Of course, I did that. I've sent another one (In 2014 Save)
-
What about wipers? On domestic full-size models they were toward each other.
-
@Bo-Decker The one car I check had it where both are facing to the passenger side. Literally every other one I checked Google had them both pointed inward. In other words, I got unlucky
-
Canadian models had their wipers toward passenger side. Just like this one: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8196770@N03/5124844515
The grill slightly different too. Your has domestic look. I'm sure you'll fix them in no time.
By the way thanks for upvoting my '58 Bonneville post. There was a user from this forum. He offered me a deal. Let's say $40-45 for convert. Just don't know. Do you know this kid? Here: https://forums.gta5-mods.com/user/foxtrotdelta
-
@Bo-Decker Yeah! I've seen him around, he does a good job on conversion work. If there's anyone who can, it's him
-
@Bo-Decker @John-Lemon I saw different types of wipers for this car too. So i make both options as tuning parts
-
@Yarm1995 awesomely done
-
@Yarm1995 Yeah right. This one (toward each other) is right U.S. spec.
But no point to keep both options because Canadian spec was different not only by wipers (front grill for instance too). Otherwise you're gonna have to work on Parisienne too (which is more effort).
This one you've made so far is domestic U.S. style when both wipers facing each other and goes to the right & left respectively.
This is Canadian Parisienne: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8196770@N03/5124844515
-
@Bo-Decker I disagree, I've seen other American Catalinas after looking around and I've seen both, not just one. Besides the Catalina I drew inspiration for was an American Car
-
@Yarm1995 are we going to do liveries?
-
@Bo-Decker I saw many photos like this, badges and grill says that is Catalina, but it have "ordinary" wipers:
@John-Lemon Yes, we can make liveries, when i'm finish unwrapped UV mapping for body.
-
@Yarm1995 Okay, I didn't know if you knew how to do that
-
yeah this one U.S. spec Catalina. it's could be improper restoration. you know little things. sometimes badges upside down, wrong wheel covers etc. happens. just brought my quarter in here. i don't wanna argue over it. you still working on it. that's the main thing!
-
@Yarm1995 First, I sent more stuff I forgot :p
Small stuff like interior door locks and rear louvers I planned and completely forgot toSecond, what's new on the Catalina?
-
@John-Lemon I'm working on some tuning parts. Engine belts and pulleys will be animated (i'm just not sure that belts routing is correct, but looks fine anyway)
-
@Yarm1995 Looks fuckin' Awesome!
I love the debadging idea. I assume you got the other mod parts not seen underway
-
@Yarm1995 What's new with the Catalina? You're still using the other mods right
