Volvo 850 GLT [Completed | Released]

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    No worries, I won't be cancelling completely.. Just "downgrade"
    I still want to give you basic support (since you still work on other mods too, not just me )

  • @Sabrina2001 That would be very kind of you.

  • By the Way
    I wanted to post confirmation about the Plates.
    This is your "Ford Escape 2012" >> alt text
    As you can see in the Picture, there are 3 different Plates (Standard White / White Plate 2 / Vice City Plate)
    The Vice City Plate however is a mod ;)
    But as you can see, your Car Mod is fully compatible to have random plates from GTA5 as determined by the carvariations file..

    As an example you can add this to carvariations file: (between the plateprobabilities section) on any car you like

    <Value value="45" />

    <Value value="45" />

    <Value value="10" />

    That way the car has a 45% chance to spawn with the "San Andreas Standard Plate", 45% with the second white Plate and 10% with the black plate with yellow font

  • @Sabrina2001 thanks. and how about the body color? can i set a specific chance and first spawn color too in carvariations?

    for example i want Black color to have more chance than other colors.

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    Yeah, that's also possible.
    At the above section in carvariations you can set different colors.
    If you set a few combinations of black (in comparison to other colors) you would have black/ dark cars.
    I post an example in 1 minute ;)

  • @Sabrina2001 thanks.

  • @FoxtrotDelta

    Everry color has a different number.
    A list of what color = what number can be found in the forums here :)

    0 is Black
    1 is graphite black
    11 is Antratcite Black
    12 Matte Black
    27 is Red

    Now I'll be using these in the example

    Wiith the example above you would have 4 different Black Options and 1 red option to spawn.
    If you now add your Car to popgroups and have it spawn naturally in traffic it would mean that 4 black cars and 1 red car are possible. Of course the Game may spawn more, but chances for black cars are higher. (4 to 1)
    Within the colors, here is what they mean:

    <colors>

    <indices content="char_array">
    0 <-- -----Primary Color
    0 <----- 2nd Color
    0 <--- Pearlaccent (The shimmering effect)
    156 <-- Alloy Color for the wheels (i always leave it at 156)
    </indices>
    <liveries>

    </liveries>

    So you can combine colors as you like.
    Forr example if you put a red color as primary and a blue color as pearlaccent it would shimmer blue in the light (same as what Los Santos Customs allows)
    For natural traffic colors (like in the real world), I would always make sure to use colors close to each other (red with red, blue with blue etc..)
    if you use 0 (black) or 111 White as Pearlaccent, it works for almost any color without changing it much.
    I noticed however, that if I put in more than 29 color variations, the game crashes...
    Also make sure not to use the same color twice
    So if you use
    0
    0
    0
    in the first option, use a slightly different option in #2
    0
    0
    111
    This would look almost the same. (both as metallic black)

    I hope my explanations are good :) if not I try to improve it.
    Also it seems the formatting is kinda gone, so it may not look as easy to look at here. It's better in the meta file within OpenIV

  • Sadly there is no way to force a set percentage per color... (As with the Plates)
    But you can get around it by selecting more black variations in contrast to colors..

    I don't know if this also affects the way a car is spawned by trainer (because I don't spawn by trainer)

    P.S. If you like I can prepare a working carvariations File for you, if you want. Just let me know what to put as modelname or send me a template ;)

  • @Sabrina2001 thanks alot this is extremely helpful .!!!

  • @FoxtrotDelta

    You're very welcome.
    As said, colors like 111, 112, 0, 1 and 134 in the Pearlaccent Value (#3) don't change the Base Color (primary color) that much.
    So combine these with 0 and you have 4x Black.
    There is even a little way to "cheat"
    If your Car doesn't have a secondary color, you can just put in any number without it having effect on the looks of the cars.
    That Way you could get even more "blacks"
    As said, you can only have 29 Colorvariations at most (at least when I added more than 29 to any addon car, it crashed at startup or shortly after)
    So if you put in 10 Versions of Black and 2 of Red and 1 Blue, you would still have a very very high chance of black.
    Or if you like just put in only black variations.

    And again if you need help with the carvariations, let me know ;)
    This is one of the few things I believe to know rather well.

    But always note:
    Make sure not to have any typo's or else the game might crash
    No more than 29 Color Variations
    Don't use the exact same combination twice
    The Plate Probabilities should always add up to 100.
    Standard Plates from GTA 5 are

    Standard White Plate - The one with the "San Andreas" in a more playful writing similiar.
    White Plate 2 - With the "San Andreas" as regular font
    Yellow Plate - The Black Plate with Yellow Letters
    Blue Plate - The Blue Plate
    Guv Plate - The SA EXEMPT Plate
    Yankton Plate - The one from Luddendorff

    Especially for this I have two special popgroups and popcycle files for my GTA. That Way I can test any addon car, by having 100% of the traffic replaced by this 1 car I set in popgroups.
    That's how to find errors the fastest.... :D
    Also that's how I noticed the 29 Colors Limit, because every time I added more, the Game crashed at start screen ..
    If the Plate Probabilities don't add to 100% it will also crash rather soon (or directly during loading) this also happens on a typo. (Example: "Stanndard Whittte Platte" instead of "Standard White Plate" would crash the Game) Because the Plate does not exist..

  • @Sabrina2001 this is great thanks alot!

  • @FoxtrotDelta

    Here is what it can look like, with more blacks than colors (as set by carvariations and spawned naturally in traffic)
    And different Plates :D

    alt text

  • @Sabrina2001 thats exactly what i wanted :P

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    If you like I can copy from my current carvariations ;)
    I can also add a few more black's haha

  • @Sabrina2001 that amount of black is just okay. We dont want to over do it. ;)

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    okay then haha
    Then I'll post the color part of carvariations here in a minute and you can insert it to yours ;)

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    I just saw at los santos customs that for your Ford the "Second Color" only affects the stitching on the seats inside, so let me make a few corrections and it's good to go.
    I can also add another color to the mix if you like?

  • @Sabrina2001 thanks , this is for tesla X model im supposed to complete today. 'll make sure to mention your name in read me file in credits section for carvariation tutorial and help.

  • @Sabrina2001 ford escape was not supposed to have a secondary color :P

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    Can you send me a download for that car?
    Better I work with the car to see if it works correctly (better than just copying over form another car)

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    It actually has a secondary color ;)
    As you see I can change the stitching on the seats... hahaha

    alt text

  • @Sabrina2001 thats not ready yet . not even spawned in game for first time yet. And i dont have permission to share it either not my property.

    But it will be similar stuff as on ford escape or my mercedes benz suv which diesnt have license plates by the way

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    Ah I see. Not a problem if your can't share the tesla model.
    Usually it should work without problems ;) But can you let me know if the tesla will be having a secondary color?
    Because if not I can make sure to put in proper values (to be safe it doesn't look weird)

    I don't have the Mercedes SUV, so I don't know about that :D

    As for the spawning,
    check the values around "Swankness" in vehicles meta.
    (Called MaxNum, frequency and SpawnDistance or similar) tweak these to make the car appear more often (or less)

    Also thanks for mentioning me in part of the carvariations :) Glad I could help!!

  • @Sabrina2001 thanks for your help and at the moment i think there wont be a secondary color for tesla model x either.

  • @FoxtrotDelta
    Okay :)
    In that case I copy the carvariations section for you to a single file, so you can directly use it.
    That way you can test it and if you do see that it looks strange (like secondary color etc.) you can tell me and I can modify it.

    As for the Mercedes. I just looked at it on your mod page. I think it's missing something inside the model file that tells it where to place the plate.. (As you now know, I don't know how to create models, but from my understanding it still has to have a pointer or something there in the model file, so that the game knows where to put the plate)
    The Plate probabilities section in car variations just tells the game about the chances of what plate can be spawned.
