Thoughts on what we can do to mod SP now

  • Let´s face it! We paid for the game and nothing more.

It does not include the right to mod their game, right?

I paid 60 Bucks for this great open world game. And i can assure you it is worth the double now, with all the mods installed. It´s the only game i play most of the time. I had so much fun i would even pay another 60 Bucks to play it.^^ And the modding process is not over yet. I´m on Update 1032. Do we really need all the coming updates? Just using the latest scripthook and OpenIV. Imagine all the pros! No little dumb kids in the scripthook comments crying for an update anymore.lol

At least for me it´s not that bad. I´m sure that new modders can mod the game in the future. There is nothing T2 can do about it. The only negative impact i can see is the future of modding the next GTA Game.

  • @Cass said in Thoughts on what we can do to mod SP now:

@jimboob Get with program dude. Im not talking about gta v. Take two is the subject. They have many other titles other than gta v.

If all modders involved stopped buying all T2 games it would still only be a sliver out of their wallets, a sliver easily made up by all the jackasses who purchase shark cards and shit.

Trust me I'm on your side dude, but T2 did their research before making this move. They estimated worst the hit they could potentially take and still felt like it was worth it.

In a few years when the new red dead and another GTA come out, no mods will be the norm.

  • @jimboob Im intrigued to why you think it wouldnt work? So from what i can gather, from peoples responses. Is the fear of failing.
    Just curious.

  • @KingsixIII I didnt even need to give him (Blade) 15 days... So on the other hand are you up or down the hundred (that bet thingy) :P hehehehe

  • Banned

@Servulus the bet was 30 days from the update. so we shall see.

hahaha I'm out $100 it seems. lol, but scripthook is back ? open iv updated today ? money well spent.

  • Modding was always going to win, the whole T2 fiasco was never going to stand forever. Yes it had lots of people worried, but it wasnt legally enforceable in all jurisdictions around the world. Hell Microsoft lost their similar case here in Australia, so if they couldnt win, T2 wasnt going to either. They wanted to protect online, and for the most part they have done that, but how they went about doing it wast great either.

  • @KingsixIII Both OpenIV and ScriptHookV has been updated.

All operations are currently back to normal.
