Unnecessary changes to the Edit File page?
-
This is wayyyy too all-over-the-place, something is there, another thing is here etc etc. The original design was completely fine, why the change?
EDIT: I know this was done to allow multiple version changes, but why not just keep nice and uniform and put it in the original rectangular box?
-
The original design didn't have multiple uploads...
-
@MAFINS See my edit.
-
Also, whats the approval status?

If the upload has been approved or is pending approval
-
@DarthPungz That shouldn't be visible to normal users, right?
-
You cannot edit it, only the mod uploder can see it I believe, this is basically just telling the mod uploader and the admin/mods the status.
From our view, admin/mods, we can change the status.

No offense, but it seems like a really bad time to choose to change the site layout RIGHT as this OpenIV stuff is going on..
-
@SancrisWolf These two things have no correlation.
New layout looks nice. I'm glad we can keep track of old uploads now. I'm sure this will be useful in the future.

Yes.
I agree.

In an ideal world, yes, I wanted to keep the upload box area in the same format as the "old" method. However, the new upload area requires its own form field, which means unfortunately it can't be in the same place as it was before (as forms can't be within forms in HTML).
RE: the the drop-down, as a mod author, you have two options: Approved or Unpublished. Approved obviously shows the file to users on your file page, Unpublished removes it from your file page without deleting it. This would be handy if, for example, you upload a new version and someone reports a major bug in it. You can unpublish it and hide it from view while you verify whether the bug is legitimate or not.

Can't you do that with Delete button?
