Mods installation issue. I'm confused
-
Hey, so I downloaded OpenIV, Scripthook and ScripthookDotNet and I tried to run the trainer Scripthook comes with, but when I run GTA the trainer doesn't work. So I figured there might be some problem in reading the .asi files. Took some screenshots : http://imgur.com/a/ZdewW . If anyone could help me I would be grateful. Thanks

No idea, looks right to me. Make sure you have everything ScriptHook needs. Also, when you run the game is ScripHook producing any log files? It doesn't look like it is, meaning it's not running at all.
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013 (x64)

@JZersche It doesn't make any log files. I checked for visual c++ and .net framework, and they're both installed, so I have no idea why the Scripthook is not running.

@RiderGames Are you using more than one GTAV folder? Like a modded version and a clean version for online?
-
@LeeC2202 Yea, I have a clean copy for online, and this one, which I tried to mod
-
@RiderGames Then my guess is that whilst OpenIV knows where the modded version is, when you run the game, the clean version is running.
Both games must be on the same drive, and in the same parent folder for the two-folder system to work. Is that how you have them set up?
-
@LeeC2202 Shit, the modded one is in E:\ , the original one is in *D:\ . Yep, just checked. It opens the modded launcher, but launches the original game, not the modded one. I need to move them around. Thanks for the help
-
@RiderGames It's because the registry tells the game where to run from and unless you modify registry keys, it can only point to one location. So any versions you have, must appear to be in that location to run.
-
@LeeC2202 Oh, so that means I have to change the folder name too, before jumping back to multiplayer, right ? I think I understood. I'd rather move the folder than messing with the registry files haha
-
@RiderGames Yeah, you have something like Grand Theft Auto V - Mods and Grand Theft Auto V - Online and whichever version you want to play, you rename that to Grand Theft Auto V and that's the version that gets used.
You can do it with batch files which handle all the renaming for you, which I have if you need them.. or you can find the info I posted in this thread https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/1451/tutorial-grand-theft-auto-v-modding-a-few-things-you-should-know
It was added to the first comment and shows how to set up the folders and has the batch files as well.
