@Elope Siiiiiiiiiiiiii, this is true. Actually we have two radars, but it might be possible to label them weapon_3a and weapon_3b to have them both spinning with just one weapon entry. Idk tho.
Yes it is possible to have 2 or 4 radars rotating with weapon _a & _b dummies.
I could try to put the radars on the second vehicle and just spawn a NPC in an empty seat. That could maybe work but I'm not sure about that.
How will the weapons work? I know that they will work via the programmed lines
But will they be able for use like they cannon on the Rhino Tank and the Buzzard or do you have to walk across the ship to the weapon of choice which you want to use and then enter it as some kind of extra vehicle?
And now I'm asking this, I'm sure I can ask some more things:
- Will the doors for the hangar be big enough to slide a helicopter in or will it be smaller doors which are mainly used for getting weapons in and out?
- From where do users enter the ship? Do they have to spawn it with a trainer and via that way automatically spawn inside the ships bridge or are there some kind enter points like other boats have. I seem to remember that in the tugboat you could only enter it via a trainer or standing in the bridge area of the ship. (on top next to steering wheel, outside of it, it didn't work neither)
- have you guys put some easter eggs in it already? Like your names on a small sort of personel list or on the back of the ship as recognition points? That seems like a cool thing to me since you are the developers of this mod and you guys can make it your ship with that
@patrickprof The weapons will be controlled like if you were driving a tank. The exception being the Chain guns and the machine guns, those will be controlled manually, so that way while underway bodyguards can use them. The helicopter bays will not be functional because there is no custom animation support so there is no way to animate the helicopter going into and out of the helicopter bays. Right now, you have to auto spawn in the James because you cannot enter/exit for some reason. We hope we can change that later on. As for Easter Eggs, we actually have to get the new model in game first, but maybe.
@patrickprof If the leaks about the new DLC are true, then GTA will support the weapons natively.
Only the Tomahawks and the torpedos will be scripted in that case.

@Oskar So if the rumors about the new DLC are true, all functions will be supported natively, like lights and whatnot? Not just weapons and doors? Also, we are still going to make a full collision model right? So that police predators don't drive inside you. @SkylineGTRFreak Now that we will [hopefully] be using a different model, will it be possible to make a passageway going from the hangar bays to the bridge? If I remember correctly, there was something wrong with doing that before, but is that problem solved by using a new model? And I was looking at the bridge and realized that you added a lot of textured wires, which in my opinion look king of ugly. I think it would be fine for the passageways, but I want the bridge to look detailed, if we can't make it realistic. Oh, and I talked to Devin, he's busy getting ready for deployment, so he won't be able to help us.
@SkylineGTRFreak Here are a few models that would make the bridge look even better. Before I buy any, I first want to check out what models we can take from GTA V, especially the aircraft carrier, which has plenty. Hell - you should see if you can implement any of the passageways from the aircraft carrier. I may contact the author and see if I can get a bulk deal or something.
This wiring is relatively low poly and would make the bridge look even better, that is, if you don't want to model the wires yourself. They also come with various fixtures as well. They would also need textures, but that won't be a problem.
These are cheap, low poly electrical panel boxes that were specifically made for games. They are low enough poly, in fact, that we could probably add them around various parts of the boat. We don't need all of them, those are just examples from the same author.
I really like these ones. They are low poly pipe sets.

Like I said earlier, many of these models probably can be ripped from the GTA V aircraft carrier, but some of them will probably need to be bought. And are we still going to put an MH-60 in one hangar and boxes of "the cure" in the other? We could take some ammo crates from GTA V and retexture them with the CDC logo on them.

@nathanjamesddg151 If the rumors are true, then yes. But we'll see. Can anyone give me an update tomorrow on the new vehicle class? I probably won't have much time to look at it the next two days.
And I wouldn't add much wiring since the model is already big enough and we have to focus on a good performance and important stuff like detailed guns etc.
@Oskar Interior wise, I think we can add some stuff, especially since it will be on a separate vehicle, and it will have LODs (the separate vehicle). Plus, I was only saying the bridge should have the most detail, since people will be there the most.
@Oskar I'll update you on the vehicle classes, hopefully it is tomorrow and hopefully it has what we need, although it'll be a few days until we can play with it because they'll have to update ScriptHookV. But you already know that.
