! i was giving up on the weapons. @PNWParksFan is working on a weapons script too. let see what suits better. Lore friendly would be good. if seaplane handling works. that would be preferable.

@SkylineGTRFreak Well, my weapon script is working that's not the problem, but it's impossible to make the weapons moving as there is no scripting native to do that.
So a native solution would be the best.

@Oskar lol. I also emailed @SkylineGTRFreak. So send him the handling either via skype or whatnot and we'll see what happens. Or you can send it to me and I'll forward it to him. @PNWParksFan Dope! Combined with @Oskar's handling idea now working, we might be able to add an m240 to the bow and with a script have the coasties use it.

Result? Not good
Crash the game or not ? most of the fxxking time
I tried to add a moving turret on the B-17 since the one controls by another people crashes the R* editor.There's certain luck in this thing,sometimes it works,while most time it just crashes the game.and you still cant record clips with this type of models,instant crash.
This is frustrating....I' thinking if we can make the turret a door ?and we can spin it through script,either make it follow the camera or make it have to be moved manually by pressing A & D or left & right arrows or whatever.Leave the dummy on the door and see if it works
At least it makes the ship stays in one model and it wont lack opponents when spawned driving by peds

@Elope wait - so it crashes all the time or only in Rockstar Editor?

@Elope Yeah I also thought about solving it with doors but that would only give us a horizontal movement since a door in a door doesn't work

@Oskar is there any differences between planes and seaplanes regarding turrets? Turrets only seem to work on planes/helicopters if they're add-ons.

I don't think that there's a difference.
I've got a new idea which could work as a backup plan incase we can't get the turret moving.
Cameras work on planes, right? We could add the turret as camera like on Skyline's UAV (https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/mq-9-reaper-uav) just with the turret model of course and then the turret should at least move. I could then combine it with my weapons script and we would have a moving and shooting turret. Maybe cameras even work on boats (haven't tried it yet) so that we don't have to use the seaplane handling.

@Oskar what about the doors and lights? Those still don't work nativity on boats.

@Oskar so the only real issue is getting the turret to rotate?

@Oskar the problemw ith that is, that you don't have seperate objects. You just have one object which moves up and down and left and right. 360° so to say. So either you'll have the whole turret move up and down or the cannon rotating left and right. Which would look shit either way.

@SkylineGTRFreak @Oskar That sucks. So...is there a fix? Or it stuck that way? What if the turret was its own vehicle, like a Rhino, and a script allowed it to be controlled when you enter the boat as if the turret was attached to the boat, and not a separate vehicle?

@pipje2001 Yeah, but boats don't have turret capabilities and apparently neither do planes.

@SkylineGTRFreak Are you talking about the camera idea or the way it is working on the bomber mod?
If you're talking about the camera then we could use the camera for horizontal movement and combine it with a door for vertical movement.

@SkylineGTRFreak Tried to retexture your defender class to a LA Port Police version....but I cant seem to find the right texture? is the letters modelled?They dont seem to be mere textures

@Elope they're modeled, it's a weird model. An Australian modder is working on a fully mapped version, that should be available soon.

@Elope They are modeled. I know, it sucks. But that's the way the model came.
