Why is Approving mods Slow?
-
Hello.
What has happened to this site since it changed hand's approving uploads have slowed down!. I use to love this site but now i'm just losing respect it's going down hill!. I get we all have life's but before it changed hands the approving didn't take this long
.
Also when is my Upload gonna be approved as it's still waiting approval since Monday?.
-
Please give me a link to your file. You have nothing in the moderation team's pending queue at this time.
-
@Dark0ne hmm should be anyway here's the link - https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/police-mitshubishi-evo-x
-
@BritishGamer88 ah, it is not appearing because there is no file uploaded.
-
Edit: Beaten to the punch by Stillhere!
Ah yep, you haven't uploaded a file on that page. Until you do, it doesn't go through to the moderation team for approval (for obvious reasons!). Once you do, you'll be put in the list.

I'd love to, but I imagine a lot of people would be very upset by this.

I'm confused, are you talking about 2 different mods or are you talking about your deletion specifically? All deleted files are only visible to admins and the mod author themselves. They'll be deleted soon, but there's no rush on deleting files compared to approving them.
-
@Dark0ne i'll explain carefully. first I published a mod (https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/max-payne-3-all-appearances-wip) then I had some problems which made me unable to continue the mod so now I want to delete it,that's all
-
Ah ok, well your mod has essentially been deleted and only you and I can see it. No one else can see it or download it.
At the moment I'm holding off on out-right deleting all mods as I need to review the code and see how it works before I'm happy using the functionality, and I haven't had time to get around to it yet.
-
@Dark0ne so it can't be removed from the site?and also if I have new mods in the future how to approve them?should I send you a message?
-
The moderation team will approve your mod within 1-6 hours normally, provided everything is right with your file and file page.
-
@Dark0ne If you ever need help on the admin side for approving stuff id be more than happy to help
.

This post is deleted!

BritishGamer88 4 Admin
-
@Viking_Lorre We can't just randomly give someone admin, it is given to those who show undoubtable respect courage and intelligence. Besides, being an admin is hard. BritishGamer would probably make it into the moderators section. It's usually them who are more active than the new admins anyway...
As for the mods taking forever to improve, the reason is because... well, could it be any more obvious? Our new admins are hardly here. Dark0ne was signed in here 5 hours before this post. Rappo, though, felt like every 2 minutes he'd be online.
-
british has almost no post on here and no rep. im 5 times more active and rep then he has and i still wouldnt want to be an admin, just saying.

Yes, I, too, hate admins that sleep.
-
All i'm saying is id love to help out and offer my services to improve the site after all i run a Facebook group with 3k member's nearly
.
-
@krashadam yea but rappo was only online at in a specific timeframe. With multpile moderators at once in different timezones it's more guaranteed to get some to approve your mod or react to a complaint or something.

That's certainly what we're aiming for.
-
I'm new but I'm doing my best to make the process faster. I've already approved 15/18 mods in the last 3 hours (3 of them have insufficient information, lack pictures or a wrong file in the archive).
-
@Unknown-Modder That's impressive for a new moderator!
@Dark0ne It's not even about that..? I'm just saying, if you are already busy with real life (which is understandable), then you should control 1 site, not 2 (The Nexus, and here.) to lighten your schedule. Most sites usually need one admin. I would say MrMason, but I haven't seen one post from him ever, so I don't know what the case is there.
And seeing as how The Nexus has higher internet traffic, shouldn't be that site that gets more administration?
-
You specifically mentioned I hadn't been on for 5 hours. I was merely poking fun at how silly it is to say that I don't have time to administer both sites, because I was last online on 5Mods 5 hours ago, during a night time in my time zone.
