@rappo suggestion
- Like button on comments
- Allow to upload image on comments
- New user with less than 500 comments aren't allow to rate any mod (this could prevent rating spam)
- Allow animated gif in mod image.
-
@ImNotMentaL If I could go ahead and give my two cents on these suggestions.
- There already is a "Like" button in the form of an upvote. It's next to the reply and quote buttons.
- One can embed images in a comment using . But, maybe I'm just misinterpreting your suggestion.
- A good idea, but perhaps a bit fewer comments? Getting 500 posts is gonna a long, long time.
-
@GTATerminal I was suggest in Mod Section not the forum section
-
@ImNotMentaL Ah, gotcha
-
- Like on comments and sort by likes
- Comments paginated instead of "load more"
I like the gif idea of @ImNotMentaL too. But not the 2 and 3.
-
@ImNotMentaL Thanks for the suggestions, I'll address them below:
1. Like button on comments
I'll look into implementing this soon, it's a bit of work so it may be further down the road2. Allow to upload image on comments
Probably won't happen, since it's quite easy to provide a link to imgur or any other hosting service. When I will try to do soon is make pasted URLs to trusted sites actually clickable as links, so it's easier to share links.3. New user with less than 500 comments aren't allow to rate any mod (this could prevent rating spam)
Definitely won't happen, sorry, 500 comments is a bit ridiculous. I'll consider around 5 comments, but even then, all a user will have to do is spam 5 comments then they'll be able to rate. It doesn't really change much. There will always be spammers and people who abuse systems, your best bet is to report the issues and I'll deal with them.4. Allow animated gif in mod image.
Oh god no... lol I don't want animated gifs flashing all over the site. Soon I'll add the ability to move one of your videos to the front of the list so it's a big preview video. Right now this is only possible if you don't have any screenshots added to your mod.

@Vlad me too. pinned comment should be editible. but others no ! why? because people can edit stuff. thats not cool.
-
@Vlad @FoxtrotDelta Maybe just have it so that the author of the mod can edit their comments that they have posted on their mods instead of letting everybody edit their comments
-
@Carrythxd That's actually a great idea. I'd be okay with implementing that.
-
@rappo Awesome!
-
@rappo One idea that I have would be to implement a voting option in the comments. Similar to Twitter Polls. I'd like to ask for the communities opinion at the click of a button!

I like this idea very much. My ten cents:
1. I am aware that this could be difficult for the mods that have thousands, even tens of thousands of downloads, but it'd be nice if the content creator(s) were able to see which user IDs had downloaded a file?
2. Is there any way to distinguish number of unique downloads vs number of downloads that are just the same users downloading updates?
-
@rappo Suggestions:
- An option to add a quick description of yourself on your profile
- An option to add a banner on your profile page (like LCPDFR.com)
- The ability to delete mods you uploaded.
- A small segment on your profile and on your comments showing when you joined 5-mods and when you were last seen (logged in)
-
Sounds great , I like the idea of "like" button on comment
It could be cool if we can send private msg too .
But I think 500 comments it's a little bit too much , how many people people have wrote 500 comments ? lol
-
@cgz Yeah 500 is a bit much, I've been here for a long time and haven't reached that yet lol
also downloading a mod before you can rate it is a feature that could be added to prevent those people who rate mods half a star without ever using it.
-
@Kravencedesign i just passed 500 this week and i have joined since the first day of the site LOL
-
@Kravencedesign Yep True
Congratulations @Faysal I was here since the first week too but I took a looong time to register myself.
-
@cgz @Faysal @Kravencedesign i joined 4 months ago, i just reached 934 comments. may be im not normal yea?
-
@FoxtrotDelta hahah lol but i don't make comment a lot just responding on my mods and few request or explications
-
@FoxtrotDelta Could be just us lol, I mainly comment to ask a question or replying to others who asked a question which doesn't happen too often
-
@Kravencedesign i reply to every comment on my mods. may be thats why.
-
@FoxtrotDelta lol waw, In fact maybe 500 comments is not too much, at least people have to be a lot involved in the community before rating the free work of someone with constructive criticism.
But it's just a game , it takes time to reach 500 comments when you are not @FoxtrotDelta
-
...even I don't have 500 comments

#1, #2 and #4 are available on the forums already. #1 and #2 will probably stay only on the forums. #4 is something I could add to the main site pretty easily, will look into it. #3 probably won't happen - just report the file or send me an @rappo comment to remove a file you want deleted.
-
@rappo great please what about the chat messaging in site like we have in forum it useful idea
