Where should I buy gta 5 purely for modding purposes?

  • I'm tired of mods not working like they should because i'm on old pirated gta, where should I buy the original game? Steam or rockstar? I want the one that's the easiest to mod and has less problems.

OMG I'm tired of being a cheap scumbag and using a pirated version of GTA.
Ok...well not really its just that certain mods no longer work for my stolen version.
Where should I finally buy the damn game like a decent human being???

Both the RGSC and Steam versions are good.

If you're a real cheapskate you can wait for a Humble Bundle or Steam sales thing, or try buying a key from one of those shady key resellers and hope it's not revoked because it turned out to be bought with stolen credit card info.

  • I'm not a cheapskate, It's just normal where I live, no one actually buys video games or movies.

Sounds shit, but we get much, much lower pay than everyone else in a normal EU country, so fuck it, for you 50 dollars might be nothing, but for us 50 dollars is something and there are way more better things to spend that money on - like socialising and drinking. Kill our corrupt politicians and start giving us normal money and we won't pirate, until then shut the fuck up and be grateful you live somewhere where you can afford whatever you want just by working a normal ass job.

I came here and asked nicely where to purchase the game. You're just some nerd picking fights online because if you try to be a douche face to face you'd get your teeth knocked it.

But enough negativity, I'm looking for the best version for single player modding, price does not matter. I want the least problematic one, with least DRM and least hassle to mod.

    Be nice

  • @DOMSlayer Both work. Not much difference in those two.

Also, btw, I also live in a country much similar to what you have described where buying video games is unheard of. But I'm pretty sure if you want to play GTA 5, you have a good gaming rig, and a good gaming rig costs $400+. So, even if you get low wage you can still save up and buy games, to support the developers. The question for me specifcally was HOW, since where I live we don't have PayPal, and I don't have/ever will have a credit card. I found a service online where people bought steam cards and gave us the key so that we can redeem it. You can pay the guy using local money-sending-whatever thing (for me it was EasyPaisa). So just look it up, research, and you'll find out how to do it.

    @DOMSlayer
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ At least you want to purchase it. Not sure how you consider "cheapskate" that insulting as I'd take it lighter.

As I said, you can get it from a Humble Bundle deal or on Steam (it was €30 the last time it went on sale). These are safe and trusted options since they are first party sellers.

Otherwise you'll need to check with a key reseller. I usually use AllKeyShop to compare prices and check with my local forums whether it's shady or not: Link to GTA V prices.

I can't help you choose a good reseller, as I only bought a few games from there for cheap. Just check reviews around the net and if they've had any customer support trouble or scammed people.

As for the Social Club or the Steam version, they are the same regarding modding support. Both have plenty of DRM, so you'll just need to deal with that.

If any mods or admins read this, where I live these are considered legal, but of course this is much like eBay where you just need to trust the seller that they got it legally. Don't remove this post, I'll remove the direct links and names if this is unwanted.

  • @DOMSlayer if i was you i would get the rocksat version, in steam you get flooded with updates that can be annoying, me myself i have the disc installation that came with 7 or so dvds but it was easy, your best bet is a physical copy

So getting drunk is better huh? No further questions, your honor.
