[Vehicle W.I.P.] My Lore Friendly Cars
-
IMPORTANT
This was originally for the Imponte Chief, but rather than have a bunch of forums for a bunch of different cars that are waiting to get converted to GTA 5, I choose to change this to my Lore Friendly car pageOriginal Post
"So you think Imponte was always a fast Declasse? think again. Before your parents knew what their crutches were for, Imponte was just another old man car brand with engines so slow that if you tried to step into it, you'd get hit by oncoming cars trying to go through a light. It wasn't until after Imponte's Sales had dropped to rock bottom that they realized they needed to do something. Their solution? cramp an overpowered V8 engine into a poorly designed car with no regards to safety. Making Imponte the leader in Motor Vehicle Fatalities! Introducing the 1960 Imponte Chief!"What happens when all the cars you want to have crappy blueprints and you want to do another car? why you make up your own! This is my take on that idea, the Imponte Chief. It's mostly based on 1959/1960 GM B-bodies with some influences from mid-1960's GM's. This is merely the start of what I'm working on now
-
Interesting idea and concept, looking forward to it. I hope the mesh will be smoothed at some point too
-
@GreenAid It will, what's posted above is far from finished and the model at the moment is low-poly. But I wanted to see if it smoothed out and it definitely does
Here a quick smooth out of the body
-
Update 1#: The basic modeling is complete, aside from small thing that I might find
-
I have a request for anyone who can convert. 1# Is anyone interested in converting this model? 2# Can somebody send me the Voodoo Custom model in a .3ds file? I plan to do the SA Voodoo style next since I already have the chassis and green house to do it. I'd like to use some of the parts from the current Voodoo to keep consistency
-
Update 2#: I've reinvented this car's grill, added drums all the way around, side trim, fender mounted rear view mirrors and added Gauge clusters into the dash
-
Update 3#: Done, all I need now is somebody who will convert this Car over to GTA 5. Now onto the San Andreas Voodoo
-
The Hoodoo, (I renamed it because I'm not calling it Voodoo Classic) as I said

I like this design. The whole car itself looks like a mixture of a '58 Fury, a '61 Ford, and somewhere a long the line, a '59 Chrysler. Will this design still get used?
-
@krashadam Nice eye! The 1958 Fury was definitely one influence. The 1961 Ford and 1959 Chrysler weren't an influence, but they are very close to what I did use as influences. I counted 15 cars that I took pieces from, I took a lot of pieces from 1959 Bonneville for the body, the front bumper is based on the 1962 Catalina, the lower body mold is based on 1965/1966 Catalina, some bits from 1960's Cadillac and 1969 Buick Wildcat for the back bumper, 1957-1959 Coronet, 1958 Fury and 1959 Olds 88 for the front, 1950 Pontiac StarChief for the logo, 1958 and 1960 Bonneville for the Dash, 1952 Bel Air for the hub caps and steering wheel and the 1970 Cuda for the air cleaner ;P
As for it getting used, yes, when I can get someone to do the body. I'd send it over to Yarm, but I've already given him a lot to do and don't want to burn him out
-
"Way back when the OGs were almost all still alive and not in prison you'd see these beauties being driven by every self-respecting Gangster, driving with his homies shooting up the enemy gangs. Way back when the OGs were still in diapers and self-disrespecting lower middle class ruled what would become the hood (Davis), they still drove these beauties around with their buddies, giving the figure to anyone and everyone. Now you can bring back an era that you never lived through and make Davis Great Again! whether you bring back like an OG or as White Trash, you can be the trash that forced Declasse to change the name of their car from 'Hoodoo' to 'Voodoo' because of "Hoodoo do who?" or be the trash that forced Declasse to go from the pride and joy of every working man to the "I don't give a shit what I drive" of the every self-hating bum to change their image"
Hoodoo Update 1# I fixed more small stuff (That seems to be a lot what I do when it comes to modeling) added tail lights, air cleaner and add the dashboard

I should look up those cars later. nice choice though so far! can't wait to see it finished!

@krashadam I'm starting work on the Savanna shorty and I'm thinking about making a 2 door convertible and hardtop Savanna and a 4 door convertible and hardtop Savanna what do you think? Also, after the Savanna I think I might give the chassis I've been using a break (I'll be honest, I've been using the same chassis as the Catalina to cut back on time :P) and work on either a Mopar muscle car based design, or a full-size based on the 1st gen Mopar C-bodies (They won't be based on the same chassis as the Catalina since they are A: Mopar and B: they're Unibody)
-
Not that this is an update, but looking for the original Savanna model I came across the original Voodoo and I compared the two. For the record, the Hoodoo is smaller but much closer to the original car they're based on, (1960 Chevy Bel Air/Impala) such as the Voodoo's dash has no resemblance to the original car where mine does, the casted side trim is missing or how the rear license plate is pushing out instead of sunken in, small, but big impacting things (I'll be honest, I really do like the Hoodoo better than the Voodoo ;P)
-
Those are a Bunch of interesting looking Cars. You´re at a great Start,i can almost imagine those chrome laden Dinosaurs from a bygone Era roaming the Streets of L.S. again.
I love the large bonbon colored Landyachts from the 50s and 60s and would be happy to see them coming back to GTA V.
Hopefully the Oceanic and the Hermes will find their Ways too into your To Do List.
-
@Chris-W I was thinking about those cars, plus the SA Glendale after I do the Savanna. I'm planning to the Glendale next, then the Oceanic and I don't know when I'll do the Hermes, I'd like to do another scratch made Lorefriendly car (Modeled after a 1st gen Mopar C-Body) so that will come before the Hermes.

Update 1. Looks like time swept away this thread, to be honest. I've been looking for someone to convert the models I do have, but to no avail, so I went back and start to smooth thing down to a T, then School started again (I'm Senior in High School and I've been mildly depressed since my first tries at making the Catalina WAY back in January, so no real progress). Away, I think I'll try to pick back up where I left off and keep going forward with this thread. I did start the DUDE 6-9 Series Cab (Crude shapes, only the fender has really gone anywhere), The 1967 Mayflower Northstar (Polara Knock-off, the rear, sides and front grill have been completed) and I've been working on the Voodoo (I put Smoothers on and the doors have been giving me hell ever since). With that, I think I'll move forward with those models till someone takes interest in converting them
On another note, I think I have my list of cars I'll be working on in order
1960 Declasse Hoodoo [Need to finish smoothing it out]
1960 Imponte Cheif [Need to finish smoothing it out]
DUDE 6-9 Series (1960 Mack Truck B Series) [Just Started]
1968 Mayflower North Star (1967 Polara/C-Bodies Mix) [Halfway done basic modeling, having trouble with the hood meeting the Fender and Grill]{Unstarted}
1970 Bravado Wrath (1970 Demon/Duster Mix)
1950 Western Motorcycle Head Chief (1939 Indian Motorcycle/1950 Harley Flathead)
1949 Willard Hermes (Vice City Hermes Remaster)
1969 Mayflower Grand North Star (1970 Gran Fury)
1969 Mayflower Settlement (1969 Valiant/1970 Dart Mix)
Mystery Kustom Chopper (What brand is the bike? beats me)
1960 Declasse Glendale (San Andreas Remaster)
1961 Willard Oceanic (San Andreas Remaster)
1962 Declasse Tampa (San Andreas Remaster)
1963 Declasse Savanna (San Andreas Remaster)
-
Update 1# The Mayflower Northstar, most of the body is done, but I need to finish the roof and work out the grill still, maybe widen it a little too
-
Disclaimer, I'm not doing The Mayflower Northstar above, it's too far in and it's loaded with Tris, and that's a hinders to smooth modeling, so I moved on (I might make a new model if I feel like it). Also, This is NOT DUDE Series 6-9 Semi, this an older Semi that came out of trying to do that project
Ever noticed an old Semi Truck and that they are smaller than their modern counterpart? scratch that, have you ever seen an older Semi? well you have now. In the older days, long hauling didn't exist, and neither did half of San Andreas exist either, so there wasn't much need for hauling trucks. But as more of the golden era movie stars started to get hit by speedballs, the more people came in, mostly to say that they've seen a dead star. But broke and need of cash, San Andreas' population exploded in the early 1950's, trapping all the young Baby Boomers and Silents in along with it. Who's going to feed all these people when the state can't even sustain farmland? Yep, that's where this fat Declasse girl comes into play, the 1955 Declasse Semi 6900, a hastily designed and built for San Andreas, and just like the Silent Gens that brought the grandparents of San Andreas over, quickly faded out of existence
Needless to say that it's far from done, but this time I've tried my damnedest to avoid Triangles in the model and strictly keep it to Quads to retain a smooth model. But the Cab in the pic doesn't really allude to the smoothing problems, so I've have to go over that, but it does give me a good start what it should be shaped like. Any ideas of where to go with this project?
-
@John-Lemon OH BOI DONT TELL ME THESE PROJECTS ARE DEAD ! IM SO FCKNG HYPED
-
They are too low poly anyway, even for GTA 5 standard.
-
@GreenAid Too bad... It was some good early WiP screenshots
-
@BenMcCall I wanted more backing going forth, but seeing how nobody would and how I dont have the time anymore, I'd say the project is dead. Sorry about that! I'd have love to seen them in GTA 5 myself!
-
@John-Lemon Too bad.. Lore Friendly projects miss too much love...
