Mercedes-Benz Renntransporter (I will convert it)
-
Hey guys!
With this thread, I'd like to try something similar to @SkylineGTRFreak with the Presidential Limo. So there's this car here:
https://hum3d.com/3d-models/mercedes-benz-blue-wonder-renntransporter-1954/
It is sooooo awesome and unique, I mean look at this thing! And I'd love to order the "game ready" version, but I'm a poor bastard, so I created this thread with the hope that there's someone willing to donate so I can buy this model and bring it to Los Santos.
Here's a little bonus aswell: I live only 20 minutes away from Stuttgart, Germany, which is the place where the only existing original version of this thing is stored in a museum. So if I would ever stumble across an issue converting this thing, for example not knowing what the interior looks like, I'll just drive to the museum and take pictures of the real deal.
I'd be absolutely happy if this could work out somehow!

can i ask what changes do they make when you choose 'game ready' version? Just getting interested in trying to learn how to convert models. There are also 3 options on Hum3d when you select this with increasing price for less polygons?

@Christian6984 The changes they make will be optimizing the model and textures for use in games. They make most of their models for rendering purposes e.g. high poly but with no interior and other details that will not be seen for most rendering purposes. When you request a game ready model you're requesting it to be optimized for use in a game engine because a lot of their render models have way too high a polygon count to be used in most games without causing lag.
If you're new to modding vehicles into GTA V and you want to learn converting I suggest starting with GTA IV models or unlocked mods.

Many thanks for the reply, very helpful explanation. Im prob going to wait till i get a new computer as this one is getting on a bit and will be getting something much better for gaming purposes i think. Luckily i have a external drive with everything backed up game and mods wise on it.

Sorry for only responding now, I've kinda been away for a while, but if @Gta5KoRn doesn't mind, I'd definitely love to take a look at that model! Let's hope the poly count isn't too extreme.
