[VEHICLE] 1998 Rover 75
-
UPDATE: A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help fund a 3d model commission, as per @jspeed's suggestion! The link to the campaign can be found below:

I've noticed that while there's a plentiful amount of British emergency vehicles for GTA V (especially given the large LSPDFR community making them), but a definite lack of British Civilian vehicles. I was recently checking out Hum3d, and noticed they have this fantastic model of a 1998 Rover 75:

These executive sedans are very widespread in the UK, and were also one of the final car models in production at Rover by the time they folded in 2005 and were bought out by a Chinese conglomerate.
Introduced during the time BMW had stakes in Rover, they're also pretty nippy, as they share technology used in some BMW 5-Series cars and the MINI Cooper. Even though Rover itself is over 12 years in the grave now, their cars are still on the roads in their thousands, a real testament to just how durable and reliable they are.
As money for me is a bit tight at the moment and my bank account is currently frozen by my bank after it got hacked and defrauded of 225 pounds by some shady individual (and this 3d model costs 58 pounds at the current exchange rate), I'm considering crowdfunding if I have to get this beauty into the game, but I'm not quite sure where to start on that.
I really hope this mod does get made, as it should open the way for other British cars to be made too! I look forward to seeing your thoughts on this.

They also produced a MG version with a 4.6 v8 from the Ford Mustang too

This post is deleted!

@Christian6984 Yep, that's the MG ZT, based on the 2003-2005 facelifted 75. Inexplicably, SAIC (the company who now owns the MG and Rover brands) made a version of it called the 'MG 7', which resembles the pre-facelift 75! It's a remake of a remake of a remake, somehow.
I believe Humster3d also has a model of this as well.
-
@Kiryu you should also know that hum3d wont give u an interior in that price. Better look for an alternate source for the model.
-
@FoxtrotDelta Ah, right. Yeah, I understand. This car has a very nice interior in real life and I can see that this model doesn't seem to have that. I'll definitely be looking elsewhere, in that case. Is there anywhere else you'd recommend?
-
@Kiryu these can have interior too but hum3d tends to sell the models with interior way expensive, unless ofcourse we could use interior from a similar british vehicle for authenticity.
Cgtrader and turbosquid are also good atternatives they should have it complete with interior
-
@FoxtrotDelta Alrighty, I'll go check those out.
-
Checking out CGTrader, and they have exactly the same model as Humster3d, only even more expensive
https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/car/standard/rover-75-1998
-
@Kiryu i can build model you want cheaper and optimized for using in games, that model has too much polygons for realtime3d, email me lazlow555@ukr.net
-
@Kiryu hmm well whoever u comtact for purchase make sure u have an interior either with the model or from somewhere else because , hum3d never gives interior for 75 $
-
@Kiryu yep the above person can do it cheaper and good quality i recomemd him

I've recently been contacted by @jspeed, who mentions that his friends could help construct a better 3d model for around £85 pounds - as I speak, I'm currently creating a fundraiser on GoFundMe, so that people interested can help bring this classy sedan into the game! I'll try to update the head post and title when it's ready.
-
A GoFundMe campaign has been created! I shall be trying to update the top post and title as soon as I can, but for now, here's the link to the campaign.

Let's see if we can get this rolling!
@Global-Moderators, could you please update the title of this thread to say that a fundraiser is active for this mod?
-
@Kiryu good luck!
-
@FoxtrotDelta Thank you! Here's hoping this works!
-
I'd ask the authors of the model if you can make a mod out of this, first. They work hard on these models, and porting them over to a different format for actual use means someone can easily convert it again for THEIR benefits.
...though it is nice that there's a change of mods here for once.
-
@krashadam Humster and most authors are usually alright with modders using their models. I imagine they get a decent amount of their customers from car modding communities of various games anyway.
If anyone wanted to use a model from a locked .yft file then they'd have to either rip it out of GTA which would result in a messed up skewed model which would probably take more time and effort to fix than it did to make or reverse engineer the yft file to decrypt and unlock it which is something the vast majority of people don't have a clue about and would also take quite a long time. FoxtrotDelta has actually converted quite a few Humster models and got permission for it before since he locked the .yft files to prevent the models being leaked.
So it seems like as long as you lock the .yft files and don't just upload the source model files for everyone to download, you're good to go when it comes to using them for mods.
-
@jspeed I had seen a video where somebody was unlocking a GTA IV mod. A car mod specifically. But yeah, I get your point.
-
@krashadam thats stealing, otherwise, gta san andrease, gta iv, gta 5, euro truck simulator 2 all of these are unlockable, only morally incorrect to do.
-
UPDATE!
I ended up purchasing the 3D model myself earlier last year. If anyone is interested in taking up the challenge, feel free to DM me and I'll provide the model for you!
