Using mods in SP and playing online without any problems?
-
Hi guys,
I m new here but old in GTA (playing since GTA 1). I m playing GTA online for many hours per week with my crew and friends, so it would be nice to test some new things in the SP before buying shitty vehicles with hard earned money.A really important information for modding GTA 5 I couldn't find:
Can I mod the SP (with scripthook/script mods etc.) and play GTA online aswell?!I dont want to get banned in online mode...would be horrible for me! (Lvl >300, > 1k h playtime)

@philvanbugy Just remove your mod files before going online and you're safe. Or you can rename dinput8.dll (the .asi loader) which will disable all mods.

@philvanbugy You can mod single player till you get bored but don't discuss modding online on these forums as it's not what it's about. Plus online modding will probably get you banned.
Another thing is the latest update (smugglers run) will need a new scripthook etc so might be worth you waiting a week or so for that to be updated before you try out any mods.

Thanks for your replies. I dont want to use mods in the MP^^... I m a fairplayer!
But I think its time for me to try GTA 5 SP mods. Modding was strong in my Vice City and GTA 3 carrier :D...but now with the MP I want to check the way to do both! (seperate)So why there isnt a modding manager like Nexus Mod Manager? With it you can easily deactivate the mod for MP e.g.
Or is there a tool for it?

There is a mod manager yeah:

all you need to do is move the dinput.dll from the gta v root folder to somewhere else so you can play online and then put it back in when you actually want to have some fun in single player.
and mod managers are outdated and might not even work: May 11, 2015 < last updated 2+ years ago. We've all moved on from those things

@philvanbugy its easy, just if you use OpenIV mods put them in the mods folder and then when you want to play GTA:O just move your scripthookV out of your GTA V folder so it does not run and do the same with ASI loader just in case.

or you can use "mod manager"
I use it
This gives you the option to switch from SP mode to MP mode at the touch of a button.
Once you select the MP option, all files of the MODS are simply deleted from the folder
