  • Yeah! Another beauty from the 90s to LS :)
#3 from my list, so all of those requesting and hoping for more station wagon, I hope will enjoy driving the "Roadmaster" ;)
    I definitely love it already.

    :heart_eyes_cat: :heart_eyes_cat: :heart_eyes_cat:

This is great news looking forward to! Exactly the kind of cars that fit LS like a glove.
I'd rather see the older classics but I couldn't afford what you're doing for us. So, thank you @Sabrina2001

@FoxtrotDelta, Don't know, but do you always do LODS?

  • Fantastic! GTA V really needs more 'normal car' mods, most people only make supercars nowadays. Great to see that this is coming and I look forward to being able to drive this in game!

  • @ReNNie hmm generally no, unless they are specifically requested. Hum3d unoptimised 3d models from hum3d , do need lods.

  • Looks really nice, will love to add this to the collection too. What would be also nice is if the wood portion is mapped so one who's good with liveries (cough ReNNie cough) can do variants of the wood for example :)

Or maybe a different idea? Have the wood area made into extra, I can tell you how to make them spawn all at once if needed, so you can get it both on

    or off

also it seems there's variants with other trims around the wood

  • @GreenAid wood is uv mapped and could be made livery.

    Also extra option also works.

Will totally depend on mod author : @Sabrina2001 .

  • @ReNNie
    Thanks for your kind words!
You are very welcome and I will be happy to share the Roadmaster in time :)
I hope you (and others) will enjoy this and similar cars as much as I do.
And trust me when I say, there is more to come ;)

@Kiryu You are saying exactly what I think as well. Today (and GTA 5) seems too focused on supers and sports.
I remember the variety that was in GTA SA.

So this is what I aim at and hopefully will get over the next few months.
I want to bring the "regular looking traffic" to Los Santos.
My priority will focus on the era from 1985 to early 2000s. With most cars coming from the 90s.
Starting with station wagon and minivans, but also sedan that have the "typical 90s feel"

For this I chose @FoxtrotDelta as the perfect partner! He has great knowledge of 3D modeling, so I belive this to be an ideal partnership for the "From the streets of the 90s to the streets of LS" project.
I already have a list (that gets regular additions) and I also take every suggestion in consideration.
I'm very happy to work with FoxtrotDelta on this and other cars!!! :) And I'm also happy to see the positive feedback already coming in. I never imagined that even wagons and such would spark a following.
I can also hint, that I not only focus on American made cars. So from time to time there will also be a few European cars and older ones too. Most important are that they are "regular and street made"

So thank you for the support and nice words!! And if you can (even a little) every donation is also greatly appreciated and helps in getting the models and all associated work etc.

@GreenAid Also thanks for your suggestion on the wood paneling. I do look at many real life and reference pictures for every car we make. (Even taking some pictures myself if possible) to give it the most real feel possible.
I saved your pictures too and will look into it further, when we get to it.
At the moment I'm not sure yet if we will make the wood as livery and/or with different looking options.
It will definitely will not remove the wood completely, because this is what gives this Roadmaster its charcacter.
But I will look further into the roadmaster without wood. it might be a different model year (or version) so I would more likely to consider a separate release (having one with wood paneling and one completely without).

As you might noticed on the Volvo 850 R, that I take big amount into checking for realistic reference (that's why I wrote the carvariations on the volvo to have the platinum/silver color only spawn rarely, because in real life it was rare too)
This is the 1991 Roadmaster, but I also have a 1996 Roadmaster on my list for later on. (Further consideration goes into the 1996 variant if there are enough design changes, so one can see a difference - I'm checking up on these things haha )

Woah, now the text got waaay long. Sorry for giving you all so much to read ;) Thanks for all suggestions! I will note them all down in detail

  • This is great! Feel free to use my 1996 Roadmaster for reference, in case you need some inspiration or info for the underbody, the engine or the interior. Even though this one's a 1991 model, it should still kinda match.

  • @Chezy thanks i didn't know that.

  • @Chezy
    I love your 1996 Roadmaster sedan!
Thanks for the offer, that sure will come in handy.

There are some subtle differences between the 1991 and 1996 line, but it still will be a help, I'm sure :)
Also because I do have the 1991 Roadmaster Sedan and maybe even the 1996 Roadmaster Wagon on my list as well.

In any case, your Roadmaster will get good company, Thanks for the support!

Thank you so much for the kind words! It's really good to hear that there are more people who prefer the "standard" cars over modern sportscars/supercars (which seems to be what almost everyone is doing).

Now, I don't wanna jump in and take some work away from FoxtrotDelta, but in case you wanna do the 1996 Roadmaster Wagon, I'd also love to work on that aswell. The thing is, the model author of the Roadmaster Sedan I did isn't active in the modding scene anymore (he actually works for Ubisoft now), so it could be kinda hard to reach out to him and ask for permission to use his parts, like the engine, the frame and everything, on another car. But since I already did the Sedan, I could just take the necessary parts and put them into the Wagon when needed. As I said, I absolutely don't want to steal work from Foxtrot haha, but I'd still be very happy if there was a possibility for me to work on that 1996 Wagon, once it is on #1 of your list of course.

  • @Chezy i already have that roadmaster 1996 Wagon from a different source. same model. hence i we won't need his permission.

regarding taking work from me, i don't think it is a bad thing. you could probaby speed things up. but i work solo, my mods stay my mods, under my name. while i have no problem if you take any work , those will be only your mods.

i don't work very well as a team. but i do welcome your suggestion in speeding things up.

    @Sabrina2001 's Call.

  • So after my huge disappointment at seeing the Volvo without LODs... Will this at least have them..? @Sabrina2001 @FoxtrotDelta I mean you're getting payed afterall Fox aren't you? eek :/

  • @GreenAid pledge 20$ on my patreon please. or please send me optimized Lod's at cynoxrules@gmail.com with proper textures. as it would take me 4 days to do it .

help me out by a pledge or your professional help . i'll be more than happy to impliment it . time is a constraint for me.

  • Yes @FoxtrotDelta gets paid from me for his works.
And I also pay to purchase the base model(s) we use. So I can definitely say it's worth the money and I love the results.
This is also why I chose FoxtrotDelta for quite a few more cars to come in the future :)
I'm very satisfied with the Volvo and what else I can see so far.
I play in 4K on my 43" TV and I'm very particular about detail. I look very close (to a part it may almost be obsessive).
I even went on and tested around 10 shades of grey for the trim and roof rails, before I sent the texture to FoxtrotDelta as "approved"

Just wanted to say this, to clarify I happily pay FoxtrotDelta and I'm 100% satisfied with the result!

Regarding the LODs, we talked and see how we proceed with future releases (and a possible Volvo update) to best please the most people in getting the best visual result in detail without causing any undesired side effects :)

  • @GreenAid so expect lods on next update. And with other future mods from sabrina

  • And for those, that don't want the disadvantage of less detail on far away cars, I tweak the vehicles.meta values.
That way everyone should be happy :)

  • @Sabrina2001 best idea

  • @Sabrina2001 Ok thanks for that. But it's not a "disadvantage" as you say, quite the opposite, it's to improve performance. You'll notice once you start installing more cars..

What happened with this? I never saw it posted? Did the project get cancelled? Still working on it?

  • @DarthPungz
    Hi

thanks for your interest in this mod/car.

Yeah. It's still in the works. We got a little delayed on Pontiac Trans Sport, due to model issues.
So that kinda pushed all cars from my list (This Roadmaster Wagon is #2 currently) a little behind.

The Pontiac Trans Sport had a few wrong details on the model we got from Hum3D that needed to be fixed (I can be very nitpicky about the details and I'm glad that with @FoxtrotDelta I have a partner that understand and can work with me on this. I can also be rather naggy if somethings not as expected, so some things need better fine-tuning)
Since this Roadmaster is #2 on my list, it therefore also got pushed back too :/
Hopefully we get them both game and release ready soon and then we can also proceed with many other cars from my personal list (not posting the list for the moment, as I don't want it to appear like a tease with too long waiting times, more details can be requested via private message on future plans)

    Thanks for your patience!!!

  • @DarthPungz this one is past 50% progress but pontiac trans m will be first release
