Having deleted props stay deleted in Video Editor

Just curious... if you go to New Yankton, and using the Menyoo Spooner mode, and delete the large garage door and the double door just before it in the very beginning building (that gets blown up in the tutorial level), and record it, when you go back to Video editor - it will reappear... always, whether you record in normal mode or Directors mode.
Is there anyway to get the props to stay deleted when editing??? I'm rather annoyed at this.
