Hi. I wasn't aware the GTA update was happening and didn't backup my files beforehand, does anyone know how I can downgrade back to Gunrunning?

I need to know as well. I'm using a downgraded version of GTA and Script hook works, but I can't find a downgraded version of Rage (need 0.52) to save my life. Anyone for that??

While not a help at all, this is why you make a backup as soon as the new DLC comes out, that way you've got a copy when the next one is released and can revert at your leisure. I do this manually and through RPH once the mods I run get updated by their respective developers.
And not to be snide, but how did you not know the doomsday DLC was coming out? I'm busy as hell and even I knew about it and made yet another backup last weekend?

The patch you download contains everything you need to downgrade, but you might also want to use this https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/gtavlauncherbypass.
Last thing to do is to block gta v in your firewall.

@Isaac3983 I don't either. I do however, follow R* and that's how I found out. That's the only reason I follow them on social media, and I check it once every week or two.

I'm in a pickle as well. I had GTA backed up from Sept. If I revert back to a clean install then Rage says it's not compatible. If I install an older version of Rage, the game just freezes.
So I suppose what I need to do is ensure my backups are up to date so then I can only revert back one game version and avoid this problem in the future?

@Cyron43 is there anywhere i can find a downgrade patch compatible with the steam version...? i'm following the instructions on the page here but when i go to run the two .exe patchers it tells me I don't have GTA installed even though it is through steam.

@Zippo-Raid My guess is that those patches are solely for the retail version and since the installation path for the steam version is different, it can't find your game. I'm sorry but I can't help you more. I don't use Steam because of those problems.

I do have that on an external HD. How do you stop it trying to update when you launch, will it not try to download to the most current version?

After trying different trainers that could replace menyoo, i'm now more and more convinced i need to downgrade to smuggler's run. Soi downloaded the patch, followed the instructions, i eventually temporarily removed a couple of mods, then i added the launcher bypass.
And yeah, it crashes just a few seconds after you launch the story mode from the main screen. Bummer.
Retail version here, anyone else has the same problem?

i believe ive done all i can do and seem to keep running into problems. a simple one maybe users of launcherbypass could help me with is the appropriate commandline changes to make? im using -scOfflineOnly
