Mods for Luxe versions of Pump Shotgun and Combat Pistol not working...



  • hello guys, I am a big fan of GTA, and I am playing with mods, sometimes i modificate game by myself with small changes but I am not really a modder
    so lets get straight to the point, I installed many weapon mods like Beretta, GlockDesert Eagle, Sig Sauer, Colt 1911, Remington 870 etc
    and I decided to add alternative retextures for luxe versions of them
    many of them worked, but Combat Pistol Luxe and Pump Shotgun Luxe didnt work
    I am sure about I did everything correct, even game models in OPEN IV shows that they are modificated
    but when I run the game and select luxe versions of them, they just dont change, they are still standart version
    I would be happy if someone helped



  • @Diamond-King Check for those weapons models in update patches. Tip: Use OpenIV search tool to verify wich patches contains the desired weapon model and replace your mod in the latest.



  • @Rarefacer I did, it shows correct like its modified in OPEN IV. but in game i see nothing changed



  • @Diamond-King So there is a model updated in other patch. The game only read and use the latest patch models if exists.



  • @Diamond-King Other option is use a modded folder to update all patches, this mod do that: https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/car-weapon-folder-for-replacer

    (Only works with mode replace type models, models from add-on mods not works 100% sometimes).



  • I did what you said and checked other patch files (normally I was adding weapon mods on patchday8)
    and i found compatpistol luxe and pumpshotgun luxe files in lowrider patch file
    and i replaced them with modificated ones and run the game
    but still the same. nothing changes



  • @Diamond-King you're right, only exists two directories for those models

    Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday8ng\dlc.rpf\x64\models\cdimages\weapons.rpf\

    Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mplowrider\dlc.rpf\x64\models\cdimages\weapons.rpf\

    So, stay sure you're replacing in these paths or use the addon folder mod previously linked.



  • I guess only way is using the tool you provided but it requires "mod" folder, which I do the opposite (replacing the files without mod folder). so I guess theres no way for me to make it work.. anyways, Thanks for all replies



  • @Diamond-King "mods" folder is the main directory provided by OpenIV and for all its features, if you're not using it, you're messing up your game replacing original files.

  • an update on the situation : I started to use mods folder as our friend requested but still same outcome. mods installed on Luxe versions of Pump Shotgun, Combat Pistol and MG not working



  • @Diamond-King Check you're doing well the retexturing, you're doing something wrong or send your weapons to check. I did dozens of weapon mods and never happened your issue.

  • @Diamond-King Your weapon models works fine in game, but they only appears when you buy/enable the luxury skin

    This happens for all weapon models with names finished in "_luxe"



  • I do buy them in ammunations, still not working, it shows the weapon as a luxe in weapon customization menu in ammunation but in game it is not, it is standard, non-luxe version
    same happens even though I enable luxe material with trainer. it says luxury added but weapon is still non-luxe
    other luxe versions of weapons work but Combatpistol, Pump shotgun and MG are not working
    did you look at images ?

    Used as replace, as mods folder replace and EMF folder mod replace (recommended to make any change/replacement easily).

    Just as observation: Remember put the diffuse texture in ytd file, but if the weapon uses weapon_name+hi.ytd, put there a max quality diffuse texture (for near camera view) and in normal weapon_name.ytd, a texture with less detail (for far camera view).



  • @Rarefacer thanks friend. and can you tell me how do I change shooting rapidity of Pistol 50 and Heavy Revolver? I want them to shoot faster, just like Heavy Pistol



  • @Diamond-King You need to search the .meta file for the desired weapon (usually stored in "ai" named folders. Example for Gunrunning DLC weapons: Grand Theft Auto V\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpgunrunning\dlc.rpf\common\data\ai) and tweak there values like TimeBetweenShots (less value = faster shots). Others values conflicts with shoot faster as recoil, so you need to do tests tweaking different parameters to get desired results.



  • I did successfully tweaked Revolver with the help of you and another friend
    but I cant find Pistol 50 and Muskets meta file location. any ideas?
