Wipe my mods, or Wait it out?
I want to keep this simple, and to the point.
I want to play GTA (obviously), but Doomsday doesn't like my mods (obviously). I've been going through my mods one by one, but I can't seem to stop the game from "Grand Theft Auto unexpectedly stopped working" at the loading screen. I've even tried a new gameconfig, to no avail.
I'm relatively new to GTA on PC (bought it in October) so I'm looking for a swift and simple expert opinion; do I wipe my mods clean and go back to a vanilla game, or do I wait it out and give the mods I installed more time to recover?
Same issue here, do you have OpenIV?
I am currently working out what files were changed in update.rpf so I can just chuck those into my backed up update.rpf
@shifuguru Yeah, I use OpenIV. I decided to start with a fresh mods folder, having realized I didn't actually have very many non-script mods in the folder to begin with. I really only had RAGEuphoria and some ped mods (Niko, Claude, Misty, and Marston. Nothing else) and that's it.
I'm left to assume it was the ped mods that crashed my game, as my new mods folder has everything my old one did, minus the peds. My game works perfect now (minus the broken script mods here and there.)
Lucky mate, I have a f* tonne of mods haha oh lord.
Some Gamconfig files don't work. Try this one: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars
Also, you need to compile all your mods into modpacks or one big modpack which I wrote about in my own thread here:
Oh wait, ScripthookVdotnet2 crashes the game. Try removing that.
@Cyron43 Ah my bad, that was the older version of Scripthookvdotnet that was doing that.
