Installing the game on steam

So I bought the game on steam
and I already had the game files on my pc
if I copy the files to the common\Grand theft auto V before downloading the game on steam it will tell me that there's no space
and if I put the files after pausing the download steam does not recognize it
with my network speed, it will take about a day
is there any way to make it work
