OpenIV
-
Hello, is there a different way to get OpenIV? My Internet router won't let me download it because it is a "virus"
-
@prowl456 Your router has a built-in antivirus software? Are you sure? I have just googled for it and only found enterprise grade hardware.

@krissboo I'm not familiar with Windows Defender. Has it an option to recover isolated files and mark them as friendly? I am a Norton Internet Security user and this is a standard option there.
-
@Cyron43 It does the job but can get a bit funny over some files. Somewhere in the options there's prolly a way to isolate files, but I used to temporarily disable it and download a file if it was a false positive
I use ESET now tho

OpenIV is not an official software and isn't recognized by most anti-virus software including Windows Defender. It will see the packed .exe (installation file) as a threat ie false positive, it's been said before to the OpenIV dev team on their social network on numerous occasions and there is nothing you can do about it apart from turn off your AV while downloading, install, and then re-enable your AV after. You can also try whitelisting the site and files etc you get from OpenIV see if that works.

@Soul02 well, it's not like we don't trying to do something with this.
As you can see, at least on virus total most of the antiviruses do not detect anything:
OpenIV.exe:
