Try describing the problem. What are you trying to install and what's not working?
-
I have loaded a "trainer" in where install instructions said to. update\x64\dlcpacks and added a folder with the trainer name to it. I have the .dll and the asi in both the root folder and script folder I created. I have openIV and the other two downloaded. I created the mod folder, added the downloaded content in it. i have three different menus laoded. I cannot get it t to open when I run gta. I am in story mode, i feel like its the slightly safer place to run it for the time being

@nietfier Sorry but your post is more confusing than any helpful.
- Just saying you loaded a "trainer" ain't not enough. Which trainer specifically?
- asi mods do not belong in the scripts folder!
- Whether a dll belongs in the scripts folder or not depends on whether it's a .net script mod or a helper dll for an asi mod. The latter also don't belong in the scripts folder.
- This forum section has 4 helpful sticky threads for a reason.
- What do you mean with "I am in story mode, ..."? Playing GTA V online with mods is prohibited anyway!
-
okay, fair point.
I used these instructions.
https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/14693/quick-start-guide-to-modding-grand-theft-auto-v
and used this trainer.

Perhaps I miss read the instructions in reference to the asi files. in the instructions it first told me to add the asi file to the root folder and then later in the instructions it said to put it in the script folder I created.

sorry, i tried searching for 4 threads or sticky threads. I am not sure what that is and where to find them.

@nietfier ASIs go in the root GTA V directory. .NET scripts (DLL) go in the scripts folder.
Please don't hijack threads. If you have a problem make your own topic.

@Jitnaught ok, thanks

and for education purposes. ASI is another form of a .DLL ( Dynamic Link Library)... Not sure why Alexander Blade made the extensions .ASI.

Sticky threads have that needle pin left of the title. They are "pinned" to be always at the top of the list. So just look for the first 4 ones.
And one last thing: I recommend Simple Trainer. It's preferred by most users. -> https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/simple-trainer-for-gtav
