why is a 4 month old mod on the featured list, again?
come to the website and on the front page you see featured mods, probably because of the author is popular, the amount of like, downloads, etc.. by why would the people who do the featured list put a mod on there that has not been updated in four months, the author team has not responded to any question posed at them and otherwise seems abandoned....

not updated, ever
just wondering why
(since this is a website concern (from page featured) I put it in the site related questions as there was no other reasonable area)
has not been updated
perhaps because it doesn't need updating?
@ReNNie You've got a point there, but I can see Beaker's frustration. Multiple people have commented simple questions directed at the creator in hopes of figuring out what the mod does. The description doesn't exactly describe the purpose, and there is no ReadMe.txt of any kind. Truth be told, I am also curious as to this mod's purpose.
@Quakex64 In terms of why it's featured? Well, Menyoo was recently featured despite being here for years. The Adjuster being featured is not the issue here.
menyoo was recently featured (again) because it was updated to a working tool, plus, truth be told, is ALOT more popular thing people use... and if the author uploads one thing once, multiple people have questions, no real description, no readme, why feature it again? to make everyone aware of its presence, thats insane, theres how many mods on this website that could easily get the prestige of being featured again to gain its popularity back????
The description doesn't exactly describe the purpose
I'm no tech wiz but to me ... memory handling works in chunks.
Think of V being able to bite off a larger chunk of memory for it's functions (per cycle or smth I guess)
Because the mod is extremely useful and not well known. I agree that the author of the mod isn't doing a good job of engaging with the community about it, but it isn't featured as an honor or benefit to the mod creator, it's featured for the benefit to the community of being aware of what the mod does.
@PNWParksFan said in why is a 4 month old mod on the featured list, again?:
it's featured for the benefit to the community of being aware of what the mod does.
but noone knows what the fuck it actually does since there is no description....
@Quakex64 What? There clearly is a description.
Rockstar limited the default game allocator heap at ~500 MB. This makes it 650 MB.
@Unknown-Modder I suppose the issue people have is that the description explains what it literally does, but not what that means to the average non-technical user. Which is a fair criticism of the description I suppose.
@PNWParksFan Okay that might be true. I thought it's pretty obvious but I do programming and reverse-engineering almost every day (unless I'm busy with school or other stuff) so yeah, it might not be that obvious for the average user.
But then again, this is what search engines like Google are there for
