>SOLVED< Scripts eating heapload of FPS since yesterday, help!!
-
So, i have around 1k playtime with this hardware and GTA 5 settings. About 700 hours of that has been with various mods but never more than 4-6 scripts and nothing graphics related or stuff that spawns tons of stuff. until today, game has been runnoing on around 60 FPS.
Today when i once again launched GTA, the framerate was around 20. It kepts jumping between 20 and 30, reducing quality to as low it can be had very litle effect at all and at all times, the load on hardware was mild, especially GPU was looking very unused.
Started investigating, did the video card driver update which always is the first thing people advise to do ;P.. No help, checked PC BIOS settings to make sure they were still optimal. All checked out.
Renamed mods folder, no impact on FPS so i renamed it back to mods.
Started taking scripts out one by one, that had no impact at all.
Then i renamed Scripts folder to somethihg else, that helped. My FPS was back where it belong and even a bit better as expected.
So i found the problem. Scripts messing up the game but why? Those same scripts have been running smoothly for moths until now?
One other thing i noticed, was that opening script menus for mods like character clothes or better chases dropped FPS to 10 or below. Previously all those menus can be opened without any performance loss.
All this feels very strange to me and i would be grateful for any help to get this thing back to running well. The game simply is not good enough without mods.

You might wanna post some logs.
Since you mentioned the Scripts folder, it's ScriptHookVDotNet related. Posting ScriptHookVDotNet2.log would help.
-
I see.. Too bad i deleted those too.. Well, no matter. i guesss i have to wait some time for a new log then. I will be in touch.
-
@Radagast-75 The log file is created every time you run GTA V. At least tell us the names of the files in the scripts directory.

Is this the run with the bad FPS? No errors/warnings are thrown. What you can try is to disable some scripts, check back, and repeat until the problematic script is found.
You can move stuff at will, so I suggest starting with a full scripts folder and disable the dll's one by one. You can reload SHVDN with Insert.
-
Did it allready yesterday. Disabled one by one and then reactivated. Reloaded scripts withinsert in between. No script had major effect, in fact, i could not see any FPS improvments at all. Only completely disabling script based mods makes the FPS jump to playable rates again.
And yes, that was a run with bad FPS.
Things i find particularly inrteresting are.
-Opening menu for characters clothes or better chases, drops FPS even more. This did not happen at all until yesterday and there are few hundred ours of modded gameplay with these behind me so i think i remember if opening a menu broke the FPS.
-This was sudden change which happened between my play sessions which brings the conspiracy theorist in me out. Maybe R* sneaked in an update to make scripys run badly. I dont much trust them in parts of modding. They do everything to make people to play GTA:O and buy shark cards >:>

@Radagast-75
I doubt your R* theory is correct since you're the only one experiencing it.That extra drop in FPS you're getting is from NativeUI. It is known to eat FPS, but only when the menu is open.

Forget everything.. My BIOS settings were messed up for some reason and i thought i had allready checked them. Looks like i did not have right documentation for this mobo -.-
My bad.. Many thanks for trying to help me, i really apreciate all that
My game is now running at aroun 60 FPS with mods again, i love this

@Radagast-75 Thanks for telling. Such a feedback is always great for future issue solving.
