Issues with Textures
-
Recently converted some stuff to GTAV from GTAIV and some items are having these texture issues.
Mainly on roads. It reflects a different texture depending on the angle I am looking at it. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

@Smallo
Gtxd... also what did you use to convert it?P.S please make your topics with something more specific

@skylumz
I converted them 2 ways. First I did automatically with the FiveM conversion tools.Then when I said the errors above I manually opened each texture dicitonary in OpenIV extracted the textures, and then created new Texture Dictionaries in OpenIV for GTAV and added them in. Still the same issues.

@Smallo that’s not the correct way to do it also your ytyp prolly not right either.

That behavior, where you see multiple textures 'cycling', as it were, is typically indicative of having assigned either the wrong, or no texture dictionary at all.

@meimeiriver Exactly what he said! Make sure in your YTYP where it says <textureDictionary>"PLACE THE CORRECT TEXTURE DICTIONARY NAME IN HERE"<textureDictionary>
You want to place the correct one in there. Also when converting LC your gonna have to learn how to setup gtxd.

@skylumz Okay so I have converted the gtxd files over. But how would I generate a ytyp for it? How do I know what uses what?
-
@Smallo
You have to convert the gta IV version gonna ytyps to gta V ytyps I forget exactly off the top of my head... do you have discord?
-
@skylumz Nah I dont use Discord. I have converted all the ide's and wpl's to GTAV's format, but none of them seem to contain any reference to the gtxd
-
Any ideas? I have converted all the gtxd.img textures over but still have the same issues. Are there any IDEs that refer to those texture files? I cant seem to find ANYTHING.
Edit: Nevermind, I found that GTAIV had a thing called child texture dictionaries that it would refer to for generic textures. So now I have to combine some libraries to counter this. Thanks

@Smallo yeah that's what gtxd is you have to define them in your dlc packs.... I should have explained it more clearly. Gtxd basically let's you have global textures that any models can pull textures from then hypotheticaly they also have their own textures that are part of "their" dictionary. Don't know if that makes sense but I tried
