How can i downgrade?

    I don't play online so I didn't know an update was coming, game automatically got updated by steam and it is a f*cking nightmare, even mods like mp vehicles in sp, which doesn't even require ScripthookV, broken.

    How can I get my old version back anyone can help?

    You restore your system... You did make a backup, right?!

    I have the same problem, I made a backup of the update.rpf via the rage plugin prompt but game insists on downloading the latest update!

    You typically need to make a backup of simply everything. Just the update.rpf won't do it.

    This is a bit of a bummer, I get that. Looks like you'll need to wait a few days for the scripthook* stuff to be updated. And next time, back up the entire GTA V folder (very strictly spoken, you don't literally need everything, but, for all purposes and intent, you do).

    This is what happens when you buy a legit copy of a game.

    If you don't plan to play multiplayer don't pay shit for any GTA. Because this is what happens, you come home and find your game screwed because a stupid useless multiplayer update.

    No. There is no Royal Road. You' d need at least the old gta5.exe, the old update.rpf (for the main folder), and maybe the old launcher exe? (Have never tried it that way).

    EDIT: The above is for STEAM. Once you restore files (after the game updated), it won't do further checks on it -- until the next update, of course. That's because STEAM works with an app manifest to determine what needs to be updates.

    I don't think you can restore files on a Rockstar install (as integrity checks are always done on startup), On a Rockstar install, you'll need to replace things with the old files, and then firewall off GTA V.exe (which should keep you in the game for about a week or so, after which Social Club will want you to log in again).

    I have digital download version of game so do we have a work around for that then, or does the Steam version apply for this version as you stated earlier?

    Once you let STEAM do the update, it will register the came as 'current' (in an app manifest file a few dirs up). After that, you can simply restore your files over the old ones (or new ones, depending on your POV).

    Apologies it is the rockstar digital download not steam that I have. I have the old update.rpf and the GTA_V_Launcher_1_0_1290_2 .exe would that suffice on a rollback?

    You will need gta5.exe too (if that even exists on the Rock* digital install). After you restore those files, make sure you firewall gta5.exe, and you should be good for a while (hopefully enough for the scripthook stuff to get an update).

    damn, i dont have the gta5.exe, so am screwed till the updates are done then for script hook and rage plug in?

    Be careful what you're getting yourself into. A cracked exe may contain more than you bargained for. Caveat Emptor.
