RPF file opens in internet explorer

Hi gang
I modded a Mclaren into my GTA 5, my first car mod so I tried downloading another car but now my rpf files only open in internet explorer and my computer cant find the right original file to open it back up with.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game to no help, redownloaded openIV and that didn't fix the problem.
I don't think I backed up my game files but all my mods are in my mods folder.Any idea how to fix my rpf?

@clearsuperiority are you opening them in openiv? or opening them in a folder

@clearsuperiority They aren't broken; your file association is messed up. Look up how to change file associations.

Ah I found it! What do I change it back to?
The only option it comes u pwith is notepad.I also realise I must sound quite dumb with all of this, sorry in advance.

@clearsuperiority RPF doesn't have a default file association. You could set it to OpenIV but I'm not sure if OpenIV can open RPFs through the file explorer. To set it to OpenIV you would have to "Browse for another app on this PC", go to "%localappdata%\New Technology Studio\OpenIV" (I think), then select OpenIV.exe.
If you want to go back to "default" then look up how to remove file associations. I believe you have to do some editing in the registry so be careful.

@clearsuperiority find the rpf, select it, merge it to your mods folder, tada you can now open it in OpenIV xP
