Does replacing a car cause performance lose?
-
Hi, I want to start to mod gta 5 and the first thing i want to do is car mods. I want to replace some cars in the game but dont want to take a chance of losing performance or game crashing by doing this. If I replace a car like franklins car, will this cause performance loss or game crash? If not what is I replace a lot of different cars?

Generally if the car you replace it with has proper LODs, your performance will be fine.

Ok thx

Keep in mind that most cars on this site are 4 times the size (MB, poly) of the vanillca cars you are replacing, even if they have LODs.
Moreover, cars here usually have more and better quality (resolution) textures, without providing lower quality textures for LODs.So yea if you replace a lot of cars, you will notice it, even if they all have LODs.

Indeed. I would personally strongly recommend against replacing vanilla cars with (fancy) addon car models. A decent addon car can take up the resources of an entire vanilla parking lot easily! So, generally speaking, 'offloading' addon cars to regular traffic is a rather bad idea.
