Thanks. I was just about to install NVR; good tip!

  • @meimeiriver Just saw it in the release notes, and was really surprised!

  • @meimeiriver BTW, make sure to also install the ENB - make sure in the enb local setting that msaa is turned on, along with msaa in the game settings - it makes aliasing less obvious. I also recommend in the optionals folder to grab darker nights as well. Also DON'T choose the OIV route!! Do this manually - OIV includes DLC that will overwrite any replacement vehicles you have.

Thanks again, eshenk. You've been most helpful today!

Yes, I examined the .OIV content (those are just .zip files, really); and, must say, there's a lot I don't like. Why is it messing with so many carcols?! And it adds no less than 3 whopping extra DLC's to dlclist.xml! That alone is a huge turn-off to me. If I'm going to install this, I have a good mind not to let it change any carcols.meta files and/or have it mess with existing cars at all. But 3 extra DLC's is what I find most annoying. I spent all this time consolidating all my addon stuff into 4 addon DLC's only, and along comes NVR, and just wants to add almost double of that!

  • @meimeiriver This is why NEVER to trust an OIV install - always look at the content, so you can decide what you want and don't want. BTW, just logged nearly 2 hours of game-play without any faults. I did everything I could to crash my game, and it never died! All my endeavors payed off - it was truly wonderful!

  • @meimeiriver Oh yeah, I forgot about the dlclist lines.. Sorry.

  • @meimeiriver I will make a video that will be unbelievable to you. I was weaving in and out of bumper-to-bumper traffic throughout the entire map. I was wreaking havoc and mayhem like a mad man set to burn his PC on fire!! Man oh man, It was truly wonderful!!

You are most wise never to blindly trust an OIV install. :)

Gratz on getting your game running again, btw! You certainly deserved it, after all the shit (yes, it should appear unsplatted here) you went thru!

Np. ;) It's just, 3 extra DLC packs, heck, my game may not even start up with that any more! NVR better be all that good as it claims to be! :)

  • @meimeiriver BTW buddy, it was vanilla tuning kits that was killing me this whole time. I had replace vehicles without tuning kits. These particular vehicles had no entries for them in vehiclemodelsets, which meant there was no way for me to stop them from spawning in-game. I even tried removing the modkits from the game and removing their data from content.xml but the game crashed saying "corrupt data" during loading. Might be useful to you IDK, but that is what I found, and how I solved my issues.

Yeah, in your other thread, I read Realism Mod really messed up your game, with popgroups and such in complete disarray! Fortunately, I believe I only have 1 replace car, from way back when, so it's not an issue for me. Which is another reason I don't trust NVR with any carcols.meta files: like what if Rock* changed modkits around a bit since the last NVR Update? Massive third-party messing with carcols data can only ever lead to the Dark Side.

  • @meimeiriver There is NO "dark side" @meimeiriver there is ONLY this!
