Radio station mods, copyrighted music and moderation

  • What is the funny thing about that for one song ask 10,000 rubles for their license! 148,30$

  • @Pro-Gaming Yeah, because rightfully they can, and because they don't work for free. Nothing is easy to make.

  • @HarleyQuinnSquad said in Radio station mods, copyrighted music and moderation:

    How very unfortunate. This violates our fair use of said music and our right to modify a game that we have PURCHASED. Copyright laws will eventually ban ALL mods that have any copyrighted content if you guys fall for this shitty DMCA crap.

    Plus the bullshit part of all of this is that GTA V ALLOWS YOU to add your own radio station. How is that a DMCA violation? The publisher of the game is encouraging people to add their own music to the game.Please reconsider this, it could damage the GTA 5 modding community later down the line if you give in to these bullshit complaints.

    I only read the first two posts, sorry, but this reminds me of all the tv shows that modify cars that are created and developed by a motor company. They showcase their work and give credit where the credit is due. This type of site does pretty much the same thing. What we are learning and unintentionally (I presume) teaching is that sharing is bad. I for one am very grateful for this Site and sites alike. Well Done Lads.

    I totally agree! This is what I have been saying all along. Anything that I use in my mods I make sure I credit the person or company that made the resources. music, or videos that I use. I don't see the harm in doing that. It's not like I am trying to say that everything that I use is my own. But I am just glad that we can add other GTA songs to GTA V without them getting taken down. As long as I can do that I have no problems. Thanks for your insightful post! :grinning:

  • So are radio stations from other GTA games ok or not? I know that already existing ones haven't got deleted but can I add new ones?

  • MODERATOR

    @Solid-Snake
    only if they replace Channel X :D ;)

    Yes, converting audio streams from other GTA games into V is permitted (thankfully I might add)

  • @ReNNie I could never do that to poor Trevor. But hey, I got 6 new stations at once. They might be enough to distract you from Channel X ;)

  • @GTA_5_Maniac I have the same problem, although the song is generally available on You Tube has not been accepted by the moderator

  • If you do not want to deal with problems (copyright problems) just go to NCS's (No Copyright Sounds) youtube channel and get songs from there make sure they are verified there are lookalike channels.

  • Okay guys, so let's discuss a following case:

    I have a legally purchased Eros Ramazotti record, 9 seconds of which I would like to use for a comedic value in my Rockstar video.

    The entire video is made just for laughs and non-profit.

    Is it legal to use the aforesaid 9 seconds of a record in this video, or not? The original singer will be credited of course.

    @HarleyQuinnSquad, @ReNNie, @Dark0ne? Anyone, in fact?

  • ADMIN

    Could still get DMCA'd, and we'd be legally obliged to remove it, and you have to be accepting of that fact.

    However, a 9 second clip in the context in which you've stated is very different from uploading all of Eminem's new album for a radio station you can listen to in the game. I think it will be fine.

  • Thank you @Dark0ne. This is a good guideline.

  • well I really appretiate whatever you guys make it possible for us these mods in game thank you so much...
