Gun model is invisible in game and displays a messed up version of the original file
-
So I've just recently gotten into modeling and I created a basic pistol. I attempted to replace the sns's .ydr file with my new model and my game worked fine. In openIV the model looks just as I intended it to work and is scaled perfectly, however in game my model is invisible and all I can see is a messed up version of the sns. Here is a gif showing what I see in game - https://imgur.com/a/T0qeZjY
and here is what it's suppose to look like - https://i.imgur.com/tGHo22i.png
Yes, I know, it looks like shit, however I'm just experimenting and seeing how all of these programs work. I intend to go back and make it look more like what I modeled it off of, however for the time being I'm focused on getting this to work in game.

@de_verett model looks like it has no textures
-
@Reacon Yeah, I never put any on, I assumed it would just remain white. Is that something I need? If so how do I do that
edit: I've created a material and applied it to the model in zmodeler, but how do I export it. I see many other models have a .ytd that comes with them, which holds some embedded textures. Is this what I need and if so how do I export it out of zmodeler?

@de_verett look up tutorials
-
@Reacon So is what i'm missing the YTD file?
-
@de_verett most likely
-
@Reacon Sorry, last time ill bother you! is the YTD made in zmodeler or some other program?
-
@de_verett zmodeler. It’s the texture for that model that get made alongside the yft
-
@Reacon So I managed just to create a random ass blue texture that doesn't cause any errors when exporting, however when I export at the bottom it says materials used:1, embedded textures:0
I export it as a .yft, and when I open it in openIV it is still white/without texture. How do I get it to export a ytd along with the yft?

try this
