What is a _manifest.ymf file?

  • What is it? What does it do? What's it's purpose? What if it is removed? ...How is it edited? I've actually never bothered looking into this file...

    Google doesn't help either, I get results relating to paranormal manifestations and other... Odd forms of... Manifest...

  • Really? Nobody knows what it is?

  • Read this Wikipedia article please: link text

  • ... I may be dumb or something but... I don't really see the resemblance between that manifest and the GTA V vehicle.rpf manifest.

    From what I've gathered it looks like the GTA V manifest is referencing textures??? I see a lot of vehicle model names and TXD in it...

    @GTAV-Noob-Modder117
    my best guess would be the _manifest states which texture archive to use (+hi)
    for tuning parts that don't have embedded textures but take it from the nero2+hi.ytd

    _manifest.ymf from nero2_mods.rpf

  • @GTAV-Noob-Modder117 in short - in manifest are definied entries for ytyps, ymaps and textures. Theres info from which ytyp are used props by specified ymap, theres info for MLO interior instances which ytyp to use by ymap or static collisions can be attached to specified ymap (it will work to load/unload ymap with static collisions) or even can bedefinied weather effects to ymaps. About textures is what @ReNNie said. When you delete manifest your map can just stop works (no crash but nothing will be loaded or partially)
    You can edit it simply in OpenIV or CodeWalker.

  • Thanks for the info guys.
