Already existing .lua files inside Script folder: should I overwrite them to install new mod ?
-
Alright, so I'm new to modding and I just downloaded the Rob-able Store Markers 1.1 Mod, and was suprised to find the same files that the mod is asking to put in the Script folder already existing! (I think those came up when installing the LUA Plugin thing)
here's how it looks like: https://imgur.com/Xvg7wlj
I already tried smth and messed it up a bit (but not that bad I believe)

Thank you for the help and srry if I sound unbearably clueless at installing mods!

@Chasco31
Make individual backups of each file & you will be free to interchange them at will
Generally though, you are safe to overwrite '.dll' ('NativeUI.dll'/'NAudio.dll' etc) files in the 'scripts' folder. Probably just take the newest version of the file as a rule of thumb. Quite often they are identical (same creation date/file size etc).
'.cfg'/settings/text etc files, if overwritten will default any settings they contain. Watch out for thatTip: Get in the habit of making backups of EVERYTHING you edit. It will save your life sooner or later

@a63nt-5m1th Thanks for the helpful tips and reply! I'm definetly saving your comment on a .txt file
Those "scripts" folders are always messy tho
