script hook V problems

alright so i downloaded script hook v and i copied the files into the game folder everything is going well until i get in game and try to use it. The menu comes up fine when i press f4 but when i try to navigate it with num pad 8 and 2 it will not work i tried locking and unlocking the num pad, I've tried to uninstall then reinstall script hook v nothing seems to work please help
