[Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] How to do: Add-On's / Replacer's

  • MODERATOR

    @DamnDaniel69 ¿? What's exactly your problem with Windows Tint?

  • @Reyser i can't change windows color

  • MODERATOR

    @DamnDaniel69 Maybe because game's using same ID for 2 or more cars in "carcols.meta" and "carvariations.meta" files. Change them on both data files of the car that doesn't have Windows Tint working and try again until it works.

  • if I am understanding your theory here:
    place whatever mod files (the ytf/ytds) in the first mods folder and any respective other files (variations, handling) in the second and it will work as if its in the dlc packs folder???

  • MODERATOR

    @Quakex64 You mean both folders included in my DLC Base Folder mod? If yes, the answer's no.

  • @Reyser what should i change ? Id value ?

  • MODERATOR

    @DamnDaniel69 Both ID's at the start of your car lines in "carcols.meta" and one ID in "carvariations.meta" car lines.

  • then using your folder theory, where do I pout the folders and what goes in them exactly?

  • MODERATOR

    @Quakex64 Tell me exactly what do you want to do (Replace to Add-On or Add-On to Replace or What) please. Will be easier to understand and help you.

  • @Reyser said in [Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] Replacers to Add-On's and vice versa:

    I have vehicles I want to add as add ons... I also have some that are replace that I want to make add ons...
    Ive looked everywhere and your guide seems to be very intricit in terms of how things go and where... I have several "add-on" mods and have tried to follow the same file structure with vehicles I want to use and it worked once but I cant get it to work again... Do I have to use all the files like:
    caraddoncontentunlocks, carcols, carvariations, dlctext, handling, vehicles, extratitleupdatedata, dlclist, gameconfig
    some people have gotten to work with just DLClist, I havent figured out how to get it to work without crashing....

  • MODERATOR

    @Quakex64 Obligatory data files are:

    • Carcols and Carvariations: For Tuning Parts and modifications working.
    • dlctext: Don't remember for what, but it's needed.
    • Handling: Cars won't work without this...
    • Vehicles: For First Person Cam, dials, etc working.
    • dlclist: If you don't add a line for your Add-On cars folder, game won't read it.
    • gameconfig: Only necessary if you reached the DLC folders limit by Rockstar. If you reached and your game crashes at start, search one modified in GTA5-Mods and try again.

    If your game crashes without extratitleupdatedata edited, try adding also lines for your DLC folder on it.

  • @Reyser I have found a template both on how to make a DLC and how to install it, but thanks for your time

  • @Reyser - So I would like to do the add-on as a replacer trick but I don't understand Step 4: "replace the most recent files found" When I search in OpenIV the car in question that I want to replace the Infernus has ytd and ytf files in multiple folders patchday2ng and x64e. I decided I would try another car hoping for one that was in one place only so I searched on Zentorno and its ytd and ytf files are in patchday2ng, patchday3ng, patchday9ng and x64w. How do you know which files are most recent?

  • MODERATOR

    @napervillerob If the car files are in more than 1 path ("x64e" is the first one to check) and are also in any "patchdayXng" folder, just replace the files of the "patchdayXng" with the highest number.

    The example you put with Zentorno, his most recent files are located in "patchday9ng", so replace this one's.

    Also, to keep a bit clean your GTA V and get some free disk space, delete old car files located in older "patchdayXng" folders, they're not used anymore by the game. Or, delete the most recent car files and keep only the older (then you replace the old files and will be the same as before, but in the first path location where files were put by Rockstar). BUT, do this always without deleting the old files located in "x64e", otherwise your game will crash!!

  • Nicely written but unable to get tuning parts to work. Wonder why.

  • @Reyser Thank you!!! Quick follow up question what if the files are also in one of the "mfolders" mplowrider, mpluxe and in one of the pathday folders? Is there a list somewhere so I can know which is the most recent?

  • MODERATOR

    @napervillerob Always the files in the higher "patchdayXng" are the most recent one's.

  • MODERATOR

    @mzaliac14 Did you tried changing ID's in both data files explained in tutorial?

  • @Reyser For "<dataFiles>" section:

    <Item>
          <filename>dlc_FOLDERNAME:/%PLATFORM%/levels/FOLDERNAME/vehiclemods/bullet_mods.rpf</filename>
          <fileType>RPF_FILE</fileType>
          <overlay value="false" />
          <disabled value="true" />
          <persistent value="true" />
        </Item>

    For "<filesToEnable>" section:

    <Item>dlc_FOLDERNAME:/%PLATFORM%/levels/FOLDERNAME/vehiclemods/bullet_mods.rpf</Item>

    Should I keep adding the VEHICLENAME_mods to every vehicle I add??

  • MODERATOR

    @mzaliac14 If the vehicle you put does not have tuning parts, no.

  • @Reyser Else I need to keep adding it for every vehicle I put in. So I've 328 vehicles as addons, so I need to add it for every vehicle? BTW I tried with Enzo and Gemballa tuning I do get the menu in LCS now but when I install the kit the whole body disappears and is left only with tires engine and the cockpit. something which I'm not doing right??

  • MODERATOR

    @mzaliac14 You don't need to add Tuning Parts data/files to any vehicle that doesn't have (I don't know if that's exactly what you're asking). For Enzo and Gemballa, you're trying to get them as Add-On's working with Tuning Parts no? Then, maybe the problem is a conflict with other Add-On tuning parts or you missed something in data files.

  • @Reyser no no...I just moved out my mods folder and used ur mod to add the car and Enzo was the only mod I had to try it out. This is the mod I'm talking about.

    https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/ferrari-enzo-gemballa-mig-u1-tuning-add-on

    So when in game at LCS while using fenders the only the chassis shows up but not the modkit. copied everything correctly from the addon and pasted here and added Chiron too but only vehicle and handling meta.

  • MODERATOR

    @mzaliac14 Let me try your Add-On to see if something is wrong.

  • @Reyser so how do I share??
