[Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] How to do: Add-On's / Replacer's



  • could it be that the mod uses the Benny's mods (Primo and Primo2) and that the Bobble heads, wheels, and etc are not in my mods.rpf file? I have them listed in my kits.

  • I added a car to my modpack, spawned it and it was ok. I did these steps again to add another car and when spawning the second car my game crashed. Now when I also spawn the first car my game crashes. :( Any help appreciated

    @womb_raider Afaik the mod you're trying to put as Add-On in your game contains 2 vehicles with a lot of tuning parts and both are the same but with a different body kit.

    With the information you've provided, I just can tell you to check every .meta file of your Add-On. If you have renamed the tuning parts, you'll have to rename them on the carcols.meta file too, otherwise probably that's why your game crashes with it.

    @BintangArnata From what you say, it looks like a problem of the mod itself and nothing fixable from your side. And, the link for the pic that you've posted is a LOCAL link of your PC, something that I can't no one can see).



  • I created one addon pack just like in the tutorial with 10 vehicles.. it works fine but now when I try to add more vehicles to this pack or create another pack the game crashes when I try to spawn this new vehicles that I added ( the first 10 are still working fine ). I tried it many times with the same result.. does someone know what causes this problem ?



  • Hello @Reyser ! First of all : thanks for this tutorial ! It helped me to built my own dlc cars pack :).

    I have a question about some Add-Ons cars which contain a "ai" folder with a "vehiclelayout.meta" file. I can not add them to my DLC, if I try to add them and to do spawn one of these cars, my game crashes !

    Maybe I need to create a second DLC pack with theses cars exclusively, I do not know ... Thx for your help !



  • @Tinmar I'm not Reyser but maybe I can help you. It's is on the tutorial tho. You just need to add the lines from the vehiclelaoyout.meta file that comes with the mod car on dlc.rpf/data/ai/vehiclelayouts.meta from your own dlc cars pack.



  • @xEnzo Thx for your answer ! I did not seen the part which talk about this (oups). My mod has no replace model, I can not search the original game vehicle layout car. (570s AIO by Dyc3)



  • @Tinmar Open the dlc.rpf from the 570s. (It has an autoinstaller, but you can open it manually, the instructions are on the readme file), go to the Folder Meta, there you have the layout from the 570s (called vehiclelayouts_570s.meta), open it.
    Now you have to copy those lanes one by one on the vehicleslayout.meta from your dlc cars pack. By one by one I mean that the file is divided in different sections ( <ClipSetMaps>, <VehicleEntryPointAnimInfos>, ...) and you have to copy the lines inside in the respective section on your vehiclelayouts.meta.

    I hope you understand what I mean, my English isn't the best.

  • I don't think the cause for ERR_FIL_PACK_3 is correct. I don't have any DLCs over 4GB (biggest one is 2.3GB) and I'm having this issue.

    My game was working fine, I decided to install the Faster AI Drivers mod, and suddenly I'm getting the error. The ridiculous part is that I'm still getting the error after removing the one file the mod installs.

    EDIT: Seems that OpenIV had broken mods\update.rpf somehow. I copied every modded file I had from it to the desktop, re-copied the original one, then dropped all my mods back on it exactly as they were and it suddenly works. GTA is a weird one...

    @TheAdmiester The ERR_FIL_PACK_3 cause is correct, but the same error may happen with other problems related to OpenIV I think. All the times I got such error in the past was because my DLCs exceded 4.0/4.1GB size.

    My problem is this. I have version 1.41 cracked and I own version 1.42 only with the files added without crack and I use the gameconfig for unlimited add-on!

    It turns out that I have 28 add-on cars where 1 add-on is the nunburgring race track. Using the DLClist containing just the DLC until patchday12 + my cars add-on the game loads normally. Bad when I put the DLClist from version 1.42 which loads all the DLCs until patchday17 and others + my cars add-ons the game closes with error "ERR_FIL_PACK_1"

    In the script I have the mod Benny's motor sport made by i'm not mental I exclude this mod and the game funcionol with all the DLCs + my add-ons. Being strange because when I remove more cars add-on keeping just all the DLCs the game works bad when I put my cars it fails! so I have to choose between keeping my cars add-ons + bennys without the DLCs or keeping the DLCs + add-ons without the same bennyes updated! How can I use it all together? And what is causing it?

    @EDSDUH Just don't use Benny's. It uses Online Maps, which uses a lot of game resources that the game needs to load all your DLCs. You'll have to choice between your Add-Ons or Benny's. There's not any fix for that yet.



  • I need help on adding "2015 Porsche 918 Spyder & Weissach Kit [Add-On | Real spoiler]" by [YCA]Se7enMoon . As the car has another folder which is "effects" ( am guessing its for the smoke coming out behind rear glass) , How to successfully add that in my Add-on pack that i created earlier. Do i have to include another line in the content.xml as well for the effects to take place? Thanks in advance

    The items are clearly defined in his own DLC:

    So, just add those lines to your own addon DLC as well (with modified DLC name, of course).

    Immediate crash upon entering a car is almost invariably caused by an error in vehiclelayouts.meta (as that file governs the anim that makes you enter the car). So, be very sure you integrated the one that came with the 918 into your own DLC properly.
