YMAP's got LIMITS ? Not loading maps anymore ?

  • Okay Guys,

    Here's the situation,

I made a map which was exceeding the prop limit. So I split the map into multiple parts.

Now for the first approach of map I had completed about 50% of the project.Which resulted in multiple ymaps. Then I stopped mapping for a few days.

After that I started working again and I removed the first ymaps (Phase-1), So that I can place more detailed props like grass, bushes etc. But apparently they were at the same place as the first 50% (Phase-1) of the project was. Now I have 2 phase's of my project as Phase-1 with main 50% of build(wreck props and other stuff) and Phase-2 (grass, tree, details etc) with rest of the build and both are split in multiple ymaps.

So before I could load them all together, I thought of checking out my second phase, So I used the ymap converter and loaded them in custommaps.rpf and it loaded correctly.(So did Phase-1 before I started phase-2).

Then I decided that I should load all the ymaps together which should result in my complete project. So I put all my ymaps together in the custom maps.rpf and there were a lot of ymaps (126 nos to be exact) and I just started the launcher as usual

BUT THE GAME CRASHED DURING LOADING SCREEN.

So I tried other stuff like removing other mods and re-checking the game files & I also do not have any replace or add-on map mod/vehicle on the game.

I was really hoping ymaps didn't have any limits. But for some reason I decided to make 2 folders with custom_maps.rpf as Phase-1 and Phase-2.I loaded these folder separately into the game and they got loaded perfectly.(I did made changes to dlclist.xml and changed name in content.xml and setup.xml to meet the RPF's loading requirement)

Now I was hoping like, okay everything loaded great previously on both phases so using 2 folder should be cool.So I put the 2 folders in the game and the game loaded nicely. But guess what ONLY PHASE ONE LOADED.

The phase 2 folder files did not load at all.I checked the folders/xml again nothing seemed to be wrong.

I loaded the folders separately again and they were working great but when I put them in a single folder the game will crash and if I kept loading 2 folder only phase-1 gets loaded in-game and not the rest of the map.

If anyone know's how to get through this, please advise?
    Or
I made some sort of mistake, please let me know.

  • @Yogeshk said in YMAP's got LIMITS ? Not loading maps anymore ?:

    ease advise?
    Or

I got the exact same problem, and i don't know what to do either..

  • @SeniaX You really should start your own thread instead of resurrecting an old one. How are you trying to load your ymap and what size is the rpf when you're trying to load it?

@Yogeshk I suspect the issue was with the custom_maps.rpf being too big when trying to load with both but was fine when loading one folder.

  • @chonkie Hi, I wasn't able to solve it, but got partially resolved by doing my own rpf with a help of a template, its was simpler. But I never was able to get both phase working. Anyhow, I lost all my apocalyptic ymaps so didn't try again that approach. Though I do remember for my custom maps if any ymap collides with another then I think one the ymap wont load up. Also too many props to load when I was trying to load up with custom_maps folder size exceeding 700-900kb or maybe Mbs. I also didn't setup any lod like JRod, Larcius or many other custom add-on map makers.

Hopefully @SeniaX is just facing a ymap colliding issue.

  • @chonkie @SeniaX tryout this mod from @tanuki , see if it works and loads the ymaps https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/ymap-load-list-extent-limit-fix-fwboxstreamervariable-patch

  • @Yogeshk I don't have issues. If I ever did with a ymap, I just used codewalker to make sure extents were correct. Which in the past a lot of ymaps didn't have the extents correct and would cause issues.
