Forced into offline mode.

  • Hi,
So basically I've got mods installed and I'm in the middle of creating a Machinima. To cut a long story short apparently to export videos from R* Editor I have to be online. I'm being forced into offline mode, even though my steam launch preferences and comandline (within the directory) has no preferences set. How do I "force" myself into online mode, or are there any other places I can check to change my configuration to boot me into online mode via Social Club?
    Mods currently installed:

    1. LSPDFR + Plugins including callouts etc
    2. Addon Peds
    3. Some vehicle mods
    4. ELS
    5. Menyoo
    6. Dependencies for mods i.e .lua, nativeui etc.

    Thanks in advance!

    Kind~Regards,
    Portside

  • I am no lspdfr user but I do believe you can’t play online with that and also you can’t play online with a modified update.rpf I think don’t quote me or it could be internet no internet will force you into offline mode.

@JeffParkerModHDx he means he can’t export clips because the game thinks is loading as if it has no internet connection

  • @PortsideMTA - All you actually need to export these vids is an Internet connection enabled... I really don't think you need to take any special steps... If you do, then perhaps the trouble lies elsewhere.

Note that even with a Launcher Bypass, you can still have your Inet connection working and clips exported without opening Social Club Launcher even once...

I just feel it is kind of weird that you have to force the game to go online. Most of the people out here usually crave to make it the other way round.

  • Hi thanks for the reply. I do have an internet connection and you could be right aha, it could be a launcher or a script within one of the mods. However, I was just wondering if there was a way to bypass this. I've tried taking out the mods, however I don't want to verify the integrity of my files due to some of the mods being essential and literally a PITA to reinstall and get them working functionally.

  • @Reacon Oh ok sorry. I tried.

@PortsideMTA if you use a mods folder (which you should be) it won’t re install anything in the mods folder

  • OIV will prevent you from going online as a security/TOS feature to prevent someone using those from trying to mod/hack in GTAOnline. It's not a bug. You'd need to disable (not uninstall) mods in the base game folder and disable the asi/oiv plugins and it might let you get GTAO.

@PortsideMTA - There is your answer. If you are unsure of how to disable your mods from loading, there is also an easy (if somewhat crude) way of just deleting your "mods" folder. You can later restore this directory from the bin if going back offline.

  • @TheMurderousCricket
    I have a similar problem
    game V 1604
witch lot of mods and scripts
    Launcher Bypass
    ....
but I can't export video from editor
with modified cars etc (pops up a message about the wrong text)

Does anyone know how to export?

  • @imBIMMER - In order to be able to export videos you need to have your Internet connection on. Don't worry though - if you run the game through Launcher Bypass, the updates won't get through. You will be able to export though.

So yes - this is how it works. Social Club Launcher can be fooled, but you still have to confront the text with R* blacklist.

If it still doesn't work, I suggest you simply use a screen capture program (like XSplit software for example). I actually strongly recommend this method, given the fact that the video quality from game-capture is faaaar higher then from within that silly, little editor...
