"Infinite loading screen" after Rockstar update (1604.1) and ScripthookV update
-
Hi everyone. I'm a new member here. I've done my fair share of reading various threads for beginners (a big thanks to all who help new members) and have a pretty good idea of how things work with GTA V modding/updates etc. I'm not an expert though, that's why I'm starting this thread.
I never had this problem before (1604.0, 1493. etc.) It started right after the latest Rockstar update
Specifically:
- I didn't change/add absolutely anything before the latest game update.
- I didn't have any problems whatsoever before the latest game update.
- I only have 4 "add-on" and 1 "replace" car mods. Nothing else.
- I have all the necessary programs needed to run these mods (scripthookV, scripthookvdotnet, openIV, gameconfig, "heapadjuster" etc.)
Before Alexander published the latest scripthookV update the game (obviously) wouldn't even start. After I installed it, the game starts but I get stuck to the so-called "infinite loading screen".
2 days ago when I opened "openIV" it "asked me" if I wanted to update (don't remember what it read exactly) and I clicked yes. This was in a green banner on the top. I should have taken a screenshot though because -as I wrote- I don't remember what it read exactly.
"F7YO" the author of "gameconfig" wrote (just a few hours ago) that it doesn't need to be updated and it works fine. Other users disagree. Not sure what to make out of it...
By the way, when rockstar released build 1604.0 the game loaded just fine although (obviously) the mods did not work before I reinstalled them all again. But the point is that the game loaded just fine. I just had to reinstall all these mods as is the norm if I'm not mistaken.
Any ideas what could be wrong and causing this? By the way, when I delete "dinput8.dll" the game loads just fine, but as far as I know this is normal. As I said, I'm new into this so I may be missing something... Thanks in advance for any help.

Try copying in your custom gameconfig from the old patch.
Probably the issue.

Probably the issue. Thanks for your reply. I tried it but no luck. I was able to solve the issue though, by deleting every script in the "scripts" folder. So if anyone is having this problem after the latest update try it. At least it worked in my case.

@S9v9F glad you got it fixed, sorry if my reply on that other topic seemed a bit hostile, wasn’t meant like that.
Any scripts you had give them a few days and they’ll be updated to work with the new scripthook.

No worries man, everything's ok. I overreacted in my reply, so I'm sorry too.
By the way, it was your suggestion on that other topic that actually solved my problem, so thanks!

@S9v9F glad to hear buddy, as I said any scripts you had that you deleted they should be updated soon enough as long as their not abandoned lol
