Just installed game 1.0.1604.0 Mods don't work.

  • Just installed the game
    Version 1.0.1604.0

latest versions of Script Hook V,
    Script Hook V DOT NET,
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 or higher,
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013 (x64)
    OpenIV latest
    Heap adjuster
    Pack file limit adjuster
    Latest Menyoo
    Native Trainer came with scripthookV
Everything is latest version and installed in root folder.

Nothing happens when i press F8 for menyoo, and F3 to open native trainer. No mods are loading.

    What am I missing here?
Am I starting the game correctly by pressing GTAVLauncher? it logs me into social club and then I press storymode.

UPDATE: I learned that "No-GTAVlauncher" will allow the mods to work. (designed to make the game load up faster and bypass Social Club launcher)
But, I'm getting some random game exits which I'm trying to figure out why currently.
Without "No-GTAVlauncher" it's rock stable without any gaming crashes. But no mods run.
It still signs me into Social Club. But why would mods work this way and not without it?

I'm running it from a copied folder. I have left the original game folder so in event something goes wrong. Not sure if this creates any problems?

  • @pitbullfire00 When installing menyoo, make sure that no menyoo files go into the scripts folder, but in the main directory of gta. If you have done that correct, upload a screenshot of your gta folder so we can see what’s going on in there.

  • Hi @MegaDeveloper Is there a way to retrieve a log when this happens or any other ways to trouble shoot a problem? In my case just an exit without any messages.
I can try to start reverting some files to original. But if there is a faster and direct way., please let me know. Thank you

  • So actually I can't get it to be stable. It started crashing and sometimes it will go a while, sometimes just 5 mins and crash.
But if I remove the No-GTAVlauncher, then it will launch stable for hours but no mod works. Not a single mod. Why?

  • Can someone please just tell me am I modding the right way? Do you see me doing anything wrong?
Isn't it strange that the mods only work with No-GTAVlauncher?

  • @pitbullfire00 - "No-GTAVlauncher" is extremely buggy, so I'm not surprised at all that it doesn't work for you. It's the same for about 99% of the users out here.

You should probably try the other one - "Lanucher Bypass" or whatever is the name...

Strange - removing the "No-GTAVLauncher" should not influence your ability to play with mods...

  • @TheMurderousCricket
Thank you for letting me know that it's a buggy launcher.
But I don't understand why I can't get mods to work without it. It's like am I the only one this is happening to?
    Should I delete everything a re-download the 80GB game?

  • Hmm... Two things that I don't have are "Heap adjuster" and "Packfile limit adjuster" and my game always runs good.

Do you need them? Maybe something that they are needed for causes your issue. It's more of a guess though...

It would be good to take a look into your "scripts" folder in particular. Think you could upload a screenshot of it as well?

  • @TheMurderousCricket
Hi, scripts and mods folders are empty right now. I'm just trying to get the game stable. So only mod would be trying to use Menyoo.
I could try removing the "Heap adjuster" and "Packfile limit adjuster" but from reading tutorials it seems like it's a necessary thing to use in the future.

  • Of course - it depends on what you want to have in your game. I never needed it. Maybe because I don't use any car or ped mods. In fact, I don't even know if this is what they're for...

    So, can you run Menyoo?

  • I figure it out finally. When creating a backup of the entire GTA folder, I wanted to modify the GTA inside the backup folder and play the game from that folder.
You have to edit registry to direct it to the folder you have your modified game. For me, it was set to the original GTA folder. Once I changed the registry to the modified folder, the game ran with mods. (no need for no-gtavlauncher)
I also left the "Heap adjuster" and "Packfile limit adjuster" inside and there is no issues at all so far. But I need to do further testing to make sure it is absolutely stable. But so far I've played around a little over an hour and 2 missions and screwing around, spawning guards and cars.

The only slightest issue I see is when spawning one particular vehicle the vigilante (batmobile) The car spawns and the back tires quickly change from the dual huge batmobile tires, to normal car tires. I think I need the spawn multiplayer cars mod. Anyone?
Everything else is spawning just fine.

  • The multiplayer cars mod would not work as this is even more crash-prone than either of the two launcher bypasses. What did you use to spawn the "Batmobile" @pitbullfire00? If it was Menyoo, what version of it?

Good to hear you are making progress. Sometimes the issues are caused by the tiny things we did in the past and forgot about it.

  • @TheMurderousCricket
I'm using Menyoo the latest 1.0.1
Everything is working great, I have tried hundreds of cars. Just that one particular one seems to have a glitch.
If you look at the picture you will see two cars. The first one shows what the problem is, but the second one has the correct tires/wheels and then it quickly goes away and looks like the first car.

  • Glad it's working for you @pitbullfire00!

Yes, I can see your problem. Could you just remind me what car and vehicle type (emergency, muscle etc.) is it? I'd like to check it on my system too.

Unfortunately, some of the vehicles in Menyoo might be broken. Most of them will work like a charm though. Let me know the name of the "Batmobile" and we'll see if this is system-exclusive or a general glitch.
