Shadows in this game are just dreadful...

  • Yeah so, I sort of got used to it but I frequently notice that shadows and direct lighting in GTA are a mess from top to bottom.

I frequently find myself in a situation where I am standing on a roof, a tall building between me and the sun, and guess what? The surroundings are still lit and a character's shadow is clearly seen. The shadow of the building actually obscuring the sun, is not. :smirk:

The same is true of Sandy Shores where, if you are next to the Boat House during evening hours - everything should be engulfed by the shadow cast by Mount Josiah. But... it is not. :smirk: As if many mountains and buildings were completely translucent...

Maybe it's because of my journeyman CG skills that I find it so disturbing. But please tell me - do you consider it normal?

I don't even know anymore if this is a R*'s overlooking or is it caused by the graphic mods (I'm using VisualV). Anyway, a big mistake...
