I accidentally made it so that any mod I download, it will be a RAR file and open in Internet Explorer. You cant put the mod in the files for gta 5 and I don't know how to change the file type.

This is probably the easiest way to do it

First, make sure you have WinRAR installed & then proceed.

Windows 7 (possibly Win10 also):

Right-click a '.rar' & then select 'Open with..'

Open With

Select WinRAR. Or if not present use the [Browse...] to navigate to it's location & select the WinRAR.exe. It will then appear in the 'Open with' window (see pic below)

Select WinRAR

Make sure 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' is ticked
Hit [OK]

That should reset '.rar' files to open with WinRAR all the time from now on

Windows 10:
The above method may work in Windows 10 as well but just in case here is a link to dedicated Win10 instructions on other methods of doing the same thing.
