How to Convert Replace Vehicle to Addon

Hi guys,
Can someone teach me how do I convert a replace car to addon? I've researched and done it in a variety of ways.
Form 1: I copied the .meta files from the replace vehicle and renamed the .ytf and .ytd files to an alternate name and within the .meta files the same thing. But when I create the vehicle in the game it does not sound, the lights are bugged and the panel does not work.
Form 2: I used an addon vehicle as a base and did the conversion. But when I create the vehicle in the game the speed panel gets all bugged and I think that will not be the best way to do.
Is there any other way for me to convert replace to addon?
