Next update: The Diamond Casino & Resort

  • Hi guys, on Tuesday, the new online DLC comes out. How can I continue playing with mods?

  • @Fabito48hd you should wait for scripthook update and after that you can continue with mods. When you open IV first time after update and go to the update.rpf it will tell you that you have old one and ask you if you would like copy new, you should click yes and then replace all mods used in update.rpf again.

It's good to make notes which files yourepalced in this archive to make it easier after every update. It is easier than finding which files was changed and added after update I think.

  • @Fabito48hd If you want to keep playing modded gta5 before ScriptHookV updates, you need to copy your old update.rpf before you click yes where ArmaniAdnr told you. Then, if you are on Steam, you can revert gta5 to the previous version through Steam Console when gta5 does update. https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/18253/how-to-download-old-exes-after-update-steam Then add back your current update.rpf that you made a backup of and your mods folder and you should be up and running modded on the older version until scripthook update or if you just want to keep it that way.

  • Yeah, it has sure been nice not having to re-install mods for quite sometime. I was hoping R* was finally done with these updates, lol.

  • Kinda sucks that we can't just have the modded files only in the mods folder so that when the RPF updates nothing in the mods folder gets touched

  • Thanks brothers!

  • MODERATOR

I really hope someone will add that Penthouse to SPA, or roll a standalone DLC for it. :)

  • The good news are that our modders are great people and they will make these mods for the SP.

  • About how many days will it take for scripthook to be updated after the update?

    Thanks :)

  • @AmazyCrazy I think would be about 7-10 max 14 days, don't remember how much was last time
BTW: update should be (not 100% sure) at 10am UK time

  • Blade has never let us down. Don't rush him & he'll hook - pun intended - us up when ready.

  • So I don't know if this happened to anyone else, but my game updated and I was still able to play all my mods (Menyoo, ENT, etc.). Granted, I don't know if it was the full update because it was relatively small (playing on steam) and it's actually going to update later or something. Not that I wasn't prepared or anything, have my game backed up from at least 2 updates ago. Just wondering if anyone had the same thing happen to them.

  • Just to let use know about the update since there are a lot of new people who started modding on GTAV PC you'll need to make a backup folder next time ok but if you have not yet updated your game then your in good luck as you still can use mods in Storymode. Here is a video tutorial on how to byepass any GTAV update as it only takes a few min to install or 1min. Thank you.........

  • @Solhaboy187 - Yes, me. Sort of...

I noticed that the Launcher itself did indeed update, but not the .exe (as I have a counter-method for that) so maybe this is the reason why we can still run the game correctly. I had some problems running it right after the Launcher version was changed though... They seemed to go away by themselves though...

What I find surprising though is that I have the PC version and you have the Steam version... Still, the behavior described seems to be matching.

  • @drydermataroa does this works for any version of GTA?

  • @Willy41007 Yes any update

  • @TheMurderousCricket Weird. Yeah looking at mine it looks like it was just the launcher. Which is double weird because it was my understanding you had to overwrite the launcher and .exe to keep using your mods. Oh well, not complaining. Less work I guess.

  • Exactly. Though I do experience a crash or two when trying to run RPH for LSPDFR, which prooves that something has been changed... But it still works the second run so, hopefuly, that's it.

  • I think I crashed once on startup. Then played fine for a few hours after that. Rebooted my computer because of a driver update, game booted up fine again and haven't had trouble since. I used everything from menyoo, skin control, ent, scene director and all my gun, clothes, car and ped mods all worked fine.

  • @TheMurderousCricket Okay so I guess it was a fluke. Now steam is making me download a 2.8GB update. Well...too good to be true I guess.

  • @Solhaboy187 - Ouch... But did you check out the bypass solution mentioned above?

  • @TheMurderousCricket I have a backup of my update, .exe and launcher files so I'm good to go. Everything works like usual.

  • just waiting for the Script Hook V but with 1.1k views on this thread and several forms locked with the discussion mentioning Script Hook V with a side note that it's been abandoned dose not give me much hope. if that's the case this whole website should go into an archive. meanwhile GTA will probably updated a couple more times. how do I feel about this well nothing I can say here.

  • How big is the casino update on steam, does anyone know? I need to know because my hard drive i store gtav on is getting full. I want to be sure before i start moving files around.

  • @TrustNo1 Was like 2.8 GB yesterday when it downloaded. And then there was one today that was 1.3 GB.
