GTA V & Steam Database?

  • anyone have any success in downloading the version of the game before today's update?

    Thanks :)

  • @AmazyCrazy. Are you asking about trying to revert to 1604.1 so you can keep playing modded? You have to do that through Steam Console after gta5 updates itself. You also needed to have saved your old update.rpf before gta5 updated. If you did not do that, then just wait for SHV to update.

@chonkie Thanks chonkie. any chance I might be able to use the modded update.rpf thats in my mods folder and just backup the current one?

    Thanks :)

  • @AmazyCrazy only way is to reaplce all modded files from your old modded update.rpf to your new updated update.rpf. But you need to know (or spend nice long time to find it out by tryin') which files was modded and which files are new updated and which is important for running game on newest version

  • @chonkie what about backing up the current game files then replacing them with the ones that are downloaded from the Steam DB and also make a backup of the current update.rpf and replace it with your modded one because if I'm correct when you add the update.rpf to your mods folder all of the files within that .rpf get added as well?

I was going to try doing this and if I happen to corrupt the game and have to re download the whole game then at least I tried.

    Thanks :)

  • @AmazyCrazy You didn't answer my question from my first post. What are you trying to do, revert the game to 1604.1? Your original question only asked if anyone had success downloading the game. In that case, yes, many people have had success. You weren't specific on what you are trying to do.

@chonkie Yes, I'm in the process of reverting the game to 1604.1 I am backing up the necessary game files from the current update and replacing them with the ones form the older the 1604.1 version I downloaded from the steam db and will just use my modded update.rpf for it until the update for scripthook v comes out.

    Thanks :)

  • @AmazyCrazy No need to backup the current updated gta5 files if you are trying to revert to 1604.1. When scripthookv gets updated, all you would need to do is have steam verify files and it will redownload the vanilla gta5 updated files.

You just needed to have saved your modded update.rpf before gta5 updated. You can then reuse that modded update.rpf on the reverted game. Will have to reinstall your mods too.

  • what about people who got the game from the social club?

@chonkie I was able to revert the game but I didn't like the way it was running for me so I just reverted back to the current update and will wait for the updated scripthook :)
