mod folder names

ive been trying to figure out a way to change the car mod dlc names for example i have a ae86 mod already and theres another mod with the same name so im not able to use the mod ive tried changing the names in the dlc content and setup but it just crashed my game, im sure theres a few of us on here that would like to know how to do this, ive searched youtube and nothing, anyone willing to take 5 mins and help me out????
